A/N: A bunny that just wouldn't let me be!
The first time he’d seen that look on Collin’s face, he’d been a little distracted, what with Zsaz trying to slice him open and all. The second time had been in the warehouse he’d set up for the redhead’s use. Then, he’d chalked it up to the kid being impressed with the new trike and maybe his giddy about the mention of the coming machine gun. It would have made Damian all dreamy-faced too, if he hadn’t been raised with the best of everything.
The third time that particular look registers, they are walking down by the river and he’s busy thinking about other things--like the mess with his mother and that clone she’d oh so gleefully shown him. So it’s completely understandable that he’s taken by surprise when Collin touched his hand. Belatedly, he realizes the kid had said something and was waiting for an answer. Damian had frowns at that disgustingly-hopeful look.
Later, Damian will berate himself for not having done SOMETHING other than just stand there like a dolt. But now, at this moment, his brain is unable to process what was going on, as Collin leaned in, his lips parted slightly. Then the boy’s warm, slightly chapped lips are being pressed to his!
He has no idea what to do. Of course he’s seen movies and torrid pictures on the internet, but Damian has never actually kissed anyone. Not like this. So he does nothing. After a moment Collin is licking at him, a little, and it’s both kind of tentative and messy. That’s not how people kiss, is it?
The redhead pulls back and yes, that is definitely a blush on his pale cheeks. His hand lets go of Damian’s and he looks for all the world as though he wants to scuff his foot. Collin IS looking down which is. Something? The poleaxed Robin has no idea what to think.
“I... Sorry... You didn’t-- You don’t like-- Sorry,” the boy is mumbling and Damian has to blink. He didn’t like? Oh. Right, the kiss. “Are we, uh, are we okay?” Collin continues.
Damian frowns. “I don’t know-“
“You don’t know if we’re okay?” There is a slight note of panic in Collin’s voice.
“I don’t know if I didn’t like it.” With that Damian reaches for the other’s hand and reels him in. “We’d better try it again. Just to be sure.” Then he presses his lips to Collin’s.
