Have you ever dreamed about what tea can really do to you?
Are you brave enough to taste what it really feels like?
Are you sure you should do that?

Remember: Careful with the tea!

An Opening for a Versatile Artist manniness September 13 2010, 05:06:40 UTC
I've (somehow) managed to finish two entries for the aiw_big_bang already. (Geez, don't ask me how - I must have been possessed or something.)

And now I've got a 60-page fic that's going to be really demanding (or it could be) for an artist to illustrate because the setting changes A LOT and most of them are real, historical places (and not in Underland):

FANDOM: Alice in Wonderland (2010)
MAIN CHARACTERS: Alice & Hatter
GENRE: Romance
RATING/WARNINGS: T (no love scenes)/Angst, UST, Mature Themes (brief)
YEAR: 1867
SETTINGS:
London (a gala, a kitchen garden, and the interior of shops and the Kingsleigh residence)
Marmoreal Castle (interior & castle drive, all familiar from the film)
Ascot Country Estate (exterior only, brief)
The Wonder (a clipper/sailing vessel used by trading companies, above deck and below)
Lagos, Nigeria (brief, marketplace atmosphere - it pains me to do it, but I have to omit all references to the slave trade that was on-going at this time; this issue so deserves to be mentioned, but I knowingly leave it out ( ... )

With regards to the above fic (Manny's Solo Entry #1, 60 pages):

Er... actually, there is a bit of steaminess/sensuality. (Well, thanks to the Week Two Writing Prompt, now there is!) Sorta the pre-love scene... not sure if that's going to be a bonus or a deterrent for an artist. Hrm...

The overall fic rating is still T, however.

And there will be the opportunity to illustrate Alice and/or Tarrant in Japanese-style clothing. Of a sort. Nothing elaborate, but...

Gah. My LJ inbox is open if anyone wants reference images. Thanks again! (^__^)

Merry Month of May just_a_dram September 18 2010, 19:41:20 UTC
Teaser: May must be a most pleasant month, he concluded: a month for coupling, nesting, and singing. This was the month Time selected for Alice to return to him. As long as Alice continued to step through her looking glass, it would always be May for Hatter.

Fandom: Burtonverse
Pairing: Alice/Hatter
Genre: Romance/Angst
Rating: M+ (explicit sexual content)
Settings: Victorian London, aboard the Wonder, various SE Asian ports of call, and Underland

Question for Syfy's Alice fans: going_boldly September 19 2010, 21:26:08 UTC
I'm writing a rather dark take on the "Alice went to Wonderland with her father" story, and since I figure the Queen wouldn't be too keen on having a little Alice running around her Court, for most of the fic she's going to refer to herself and be refered to as Jelly (short for Jellybean, natch). Is that going to throw you out of the story?

29 fics, although I haven't heard from half of them with summaries. Either people are being slow about responding or we've had some drop outs along the way that I'm unaware of.
