I feel like I'm dwelling on this "losing my job" thing, which is bad, because dwelling leads to festering. However, after this post there will be one more of art based on my recent state of involuntary termination and then I'll stop. But I keep getting letters about the end of my health insurance because of the end of my job and each one of them ( Read more... )

Well, I can say from experience, once you hit the 3 to 4 month mark, office jobs/corporate settings start making you want to claw your own eyes out. I look back and I don't have any idea how I lasted as long as I did in a cubicle (probably the combination of a.) I liked my coworkers, b.) benefits, and especially c.) I was planning to leave all along). And this is at APPLE, which is almost tantamount to working at Facebook or Google.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that this could be a really positive thing. Maybe you should look at it as the universe letting you know you weren't doing what you're meant for? Now you have the freedom and the opportunity to try something else. And art school could be really good--you certainly have the talent for it. :)
