"if you're to be given, let's just say three more days with him... what would you do?"
Chapter Two
Yunho shook his head forcefully, earning a confused look from both Yoochun and Jaejoong.
“Uh… what are you doing, Yunho-ya? What’s wrong?” asked Jaejoong.
Yunho took one deep breath and let it out slowly, then another deep breath, and another, and another. He looked up and met Jaejoong’s still confused face.
“Jaejoong…?”
“Yes?” the oldest guy tilted his head, and then he went over to Yunho, putting his free hand on the guy’s forehead before putting it on his own, “you’re not sick… are you having a nightmare? You look like you just saw a gho-”
But Jaejoong never finished his words because in a blink of an eye, Yunho already jumped on him, holding him tightly as to make sure he wasn’t seeing thing.
Jaejoong had died, right?
But this one feels so real…
Yunho took Jaejoong’s hand and examined it-definitely flesh. He then grasped Jaejoong’s hand; it felt warm, just like before. Still not satisfied enough, Yunho started pinching his own cheeks.
“Yunho-ya…” Jaejoong said in a worried tone, “what’s wrong? Are you okay?”
“I… uh…” Yunho was dumbfounded. “I just… nothing.”
“Nothing?”
“Yes, I was just… shocked…”
“About what?”
Yunho was just so confused that he couldn’t found anything to say. But luckily, Changmin came in, blabbering about whether he could start breakfast by himself because he was so hungry.
“No,” Jaejoong said as he put his hand on his waist, “didn’t we all agree to start our breakfast when the five of us are at the table?”
“But hyung… I’m so hungry…” Changmin rubbed his stomach.
“I said no, now why don’t you go to the kitchen and help me put all those food on the table? I’ll be down in two minutes.” Jaejoong turned to Yoochun, “could you help him, Chun?”
Yoochun showed an expression of laziness and Changmin rolled his eyes, but both still turn their back to go to the kitchen, doing what they had been told. After the two left, Jaejoong returned his attention back to Yunho.
“Are you feeling any better?” he grabbed and put Yunho’s hand in his, “or should I bring the food here?”
Yunho shook his head, “what date is it?”
“Eh? Date?” the older boy curled his eyebrows before looking down on his watch, “it’s the 3rd.”
“3rd...?” Yunho tried to remember, the 3rd was exactly three days before Jaejoong’s death… so then, did it really happened?
Once more, Yunho pinched his arm; this can’t be just a dream, no way this is just a dream. Yunho’s mind raced to one conclusion;
What his grandmother told him had really happened.
Meaning he got his wish, he had more time; he got three days to confess and make Jaejoong’s days the happiest in his life. Maybe he should start…
“Yunho… Yunho… are you listening to me?” Jaejoong asked while shaking Yunho slowly.
-right now?
“Yeah, of course, Joongie…” Jaejoong gaped. Did Yunho just smile and call him Joongie…?
“Okay, there’s definitely something wrong with you. I’ll bring your breakfast right awa-” Jaejoong was about to leave when Yunho pulled his hand.
“No! Don’t go! …I mean-”
“What?”
“Ah… nothing… I just…”
“…will not tell anyone about this…”
“I was just having a nightmare…”
Jaejoong’s eyes softened as he sat back on Yunho’s bed. He then patted Yunho’s shoulder gently, “what kind of nightmare? Come on, you can tell me…”
The younger guy stared into Jaejoong’s eyes for some time before shaking his head, “It’s nothing… I’m just shocked at first…”
For a second, Jaejoong look disappointed, but still he pulled back his hand and a smile formed on his lips, “okay then, now why don’t you go and take a shower?” Jaejoong stood back and walked toward the door. “I’ll be waiting in the dining room.”
Yunho nodded in response and waited for the other guy to leave and close the door before leaning his back on the bed while his mind started planning the schedule for the next three days.
“Ahhh… home at last!” Changmin shouted out loud when they just reached the front door of the apartment. The boys had just gotten home after filming a variety show on TV. And since they rarely spent their afternoon in the apartment, all of them felt really happy. Just a minute after they arrived, everyone had gotten themselves started on their things.
Junsu decided to play his PS2 with Yoochun while the older guy listened to his iPod as both played a soccer game. Changmin took this chance to eat something, or anything he could dig up in the kitchen, before skipping the whole afternoon with a good ol’ nap. Jaejoong went to his work room and Yunho made his way to the balcony.
The sky was blue, just like the real three days before Jaejoong’s accident. The leader smirked to himself, already knowing that sooner or later Jaejoong would join him and ask him some questions just like before.
He sat on the couch and started humming before the sound of footsteps neared him.
“Yah Yunho…”
Just like before.
“What?” Yunho just sat still while Jaejoong leaned closely to him.
“Tell me… have I ever crossed your mind?”
Yunho only tilted his head to Jaejoong, “what do you think?”
“Hey, I’m the one asking here…” ah, how he missed that pout!
“Answer my question and I’ll answer yours…”
Jaejoong shot a glare at Yunho before turning his back on him, “I don’t know!”
Yunho chuckled, “then why don’t you ask me your second question? After that, then I’ll give my answer….”
The chocolate-haired guy turned to face Yunho, “how did you know I was going to ask something else?”
“I don’t know,” Yunho shrugged, but a smirk was still visible in his handsome face, “lucky guess?”
“Well, I don’t believe you,” Jaejoong turned his head with a pout, arms folded in front of his chest, making Yunho’s smirk turn into a smile. Jaejoong was just too adorable for his own good. Sometimes he wondered if he should call himself a very stupid person for letting a one-of-a-kind guy like Jaejoong slip away from him.
“Hey, Jae… don’t sulk on me…”
“I’m not…” still pouting, ah… can’t he be any cuter?
“Well, surely you are…” Yunho snaked his arms around Jaejoong’s small waist, earning a small gasp from the older guy before he relaxed himself. “Okay then, if you don’t want to tell me, it’s fine, but I will still answer your questions…” Yunho said as his chin made its way to Jaejoong’s shoulder.
“Well…” Jaejoong spoke, “I’m waiting…”
Yunho took one deep breath before resting his head back on Jaejoong’s shoulder, inhaling his usual hair-scent: honey and citrus, “my answer is ‘no, you never’ and ‘no, I won’t cry if you die’…”
Jaejoong could feel his eyes getting hot and tears started building in them, but still he refused to let them fall. He had made a promise to himself that he would accept any answer Yunho gave him, but this was just too much…
He then struggled to move away from Yunho’s embrace, but the leader refused to let him go; instead, he tightened his grip on his waist.
“Let me go, p-please…” even his voice sounded shaky. Jaejoong prayed that Yunho didn’t notice his tone changing, but the chocolate-haired guy could feel that Yunho’s eyes were locked intensely on him.
“I haven’t finished speaking yet-“
“I know what you’re going to say anyway,” another struggle, but those iron-like arms only moved a bit. Jaejoong sighed at his failed attempt. At least he could still hold his tears. He didn’t want Yunho to see him cry because of stuff like this.
Stuff like his own feelings…
Uh-oh… No… Stop thinking about feelings…
Stop thinking about rejections…
Stop thinking about what kind of words Yunho might say…
Stop thinking those possibilities… hell, just stop thinking!
Jaejoong cursed inside his mind after realizing a single tear fell down on his cheek. Now what should he say to Yunho?
Surprisingly, a pair of lips touched his cheek, as if to kiss away the tears. But before Jaejoong turned his face, Yunho already brought his lips to his ears and started whispering seductively.
“Listen to me…” Jaejoong bit his lip, torn between the feeling of nervousness and the good feeling having Yunho’s breaths in his ears. “The reason you never crossed my mind is because you never went through it, you stay in it…”
“…And no… I won’t cry if you die…” now Jaejoong practically forgot about his tears; all of his being simply concentrated on Yunho’s words and the feel of his hot breath caressing his earlobe.
“…I’d die without you by my side… simply because… I love you…”
Both Jaejoong and Yunho were shocked at the just spoken words. The two of them had unreadable expression on their faces. Yunho felt like his voice had just gone and kept thinking, did he really just say those words? Because those seemed-to-be-so-hard-to-say-words just accidentally slipped out from his mouth and -Yunho's smile widened- he felt really good after actually saying it. It was like some heavy burden had just been lifted up from his shoulders.
Jaejoong, on the other side, found himself shocked and unable to say anything. There were so many thoughts flowing in and out his mind, but all of them actually only made one conclusion; the one he loved had just said that he loved him.
Jaejoong turned his body and found Yunho smiling at him with eyes that were just full of love and happiness. He smiled back before leaning closer, pressing his forehead against Yunho’s. Suddenly another tear made its way down his cheek.
“Don’t cry…” Yunho moved his lips to the teardrop, kissing it away before putting his own hand on Jaejoong’s back, pulling him closer to him so that he was leaning on top of his chest with Yunho’s back flat on the sofa.
“…kiss me…”
Jaejoong only closed his eyes in response before pushing his lips gently to Yunho’s, only to lick the bottom part first before letting the younger guy take over the kiss, nibbling Jaejoong’s lower and upper lip gently as to feel all the outer parts before start exploring the inside.
After what seemed to be like decades, Jaejoong tried to move to find himself a better position to lean on, but Yunho took that chance to slip his tongue inside his parted lips. He was just starting to explore his hot cavern before-
“Hyung, I can’t find anything to eat and I was wondering if you could…-”
Changmin froze while Yunho and Jaejoong quickly separated from each other. Jaejoong’s cheeks were flushed and Yunho made a sound, clearing his throat.
“W-what is it, Min?” the oldest guy quickly stood up and tapped his clothes nervously, as if to clean some dust on it. Yunho, on the other hand, only scratched his head and leaned back, muttering some curses under his breath. Why did Changmin have to appear at the wrong time? Things were just getting good.
“I uh…” Changmin gulped, “I guess… forget it… I-eh, just continue… whatever… you’re doing…” and with that, he backed up inside and started walking away as fast as he could.
Jaejoong sighed before looking back at Yunho, “I-I think I should help him with whatever he wanted…”
“You don’t have to lie to me, you know… I know you want to make sure Changmin won’t blabber anything to Junsu and Yoochun…” Yunho said bluntly.
“Uh okay, maybe that too…” but after seeing Yunho’s mouth start forming a smirk, he quickly added, “but I’m the band’s mother, and I have to make sure my children are well and in good shape!”
“Then how about the band’s father?” Yunho tapped his chest, “Appa needs some of umma’s love and affections too, you know…” he faked a hurt expression, but only got himself a playful slap on his shoulder from Jaejoong.
“Listen, why don’t appa rest here now and let umma help Minnie. Then after that, umma will make appa his favorite snack, how’s that sound?”
“’kay Boo…” Jaejoong walked to the door, but Yunho’s hand caught his, “hey, where’s my kiss?”
The chocolate-haired guy only smiled before walking back and giving his lover a quick peck on his lips. He then licked his lips once more before turning back inside.
“Don’t be long, okay?” Yunho called out before pulling out his hand phone from his pocket. Flipping it open, he dialed a number he had just called earlier that morning.
“Hello?”
“Excuse me, this is Jung Yunho… yes… yes, if it’s possible I would like to change the date to two days from now? Yes the 5th…” Yunho played with his fingers while he waited for the person’s approval, “…no, don’t change the time, it’s still at 7… yes… really? Well thank you then… I’m sorry if I troubled you… hahaha, yes… yes, I’ll pay the cancelation fee as well… yes… thank you, sir…”
Yunho pushed the red button and ended the conversation. He then browsed through his contacts before stopping at another familiar name.
Smirking, he pushed dial and waited. He might have to make some small changes in his plan, but he didn’t have any intention to make it fail. Even if this person failed him, he still had about three more backups.
“Hello?”
“Yes, this is Yunho…”
