I actually had a wee revival of hope today. The nasty-minded, mean-spirited, egregiously unconstitutional Constitutional Amendment on Marriage was....yes...DEFEATED in the Senate. Defeated. Some interesting statistics on that....the last time the Amendment came up for a vote, in 2004, it went down to defeat 50-48. This time it was 49-48. They lost

My feeling is that today isn't a victory, although the outcome of this vote was right and good. We still had the leader of our country using obsolete rhetoric in an attempt to turn millions of Americans into second class citizens. Regardless of the vote outcome, it's still a sad day.
