Oh, fabulous story! I love the way Lestrade comes to the rescue when Mycroft's obnoxious ex-lover can't take a hint! Although Lestrade's actions were initially fuelled by jealousy, it's sweet how protective he becomes when he sees that Mycroft is uncomfortable. Your description of Lestrade's smile being "nonchalant" is right on target. That paired with his clever responses to Edmund makes for pretty formidable opposition! Reading the dialogue between Lestrade and Edmund is a bit like watching a tennis match! *g*

There are a lot of great moments in this story, but this is one of my favourites:

Greg leaned into Mycroft, kissing him possessively. Apparently he did have a jealous streak, but he didn’t actually mind when it came to Mycroft. “How about we head back to mine and have a night in

The tennis match reference was spot on! It had been sort of what I was thinking whilst writing!

I so love this pairing and I so love this story. I think that it so fits Greg that he would be like that. Jealous and yet protective at the same time.

I also loved the way that he handled Edmund as well. Making his point but never being openly rude to him.
