Well, it turns out to be a surprise to this girl at least. "P-Please forgive me!" Homura stammers, though she can't tell who she's talking to just this moment. Somehow in the confusion, her glasses managed to fall off of her face and onto the floor, just in front of Madoka's shoes. She can't exactly see clearly enough to find them and gropes around the floor for them.

She was so caught up in trying to gather the papers that for a second, a brief second, she did not realize who it was she ran into.
"-- Homura!" she says, stepping forwards a pace. "Are you okay, Homura?" Right onto her glasses. It makes a solid crunch and she immediately jumps back and looks down.
She slowly, gingerly goes to pick up the glasses. They aren't quite snapped in two, but the bridge is cracked. She wiggles it a little, and it doesn't come apart in her hands but who knows how well it'd hold up when actually on Homura's face. And then the arm is bent oddly... at least the lenses aren't hurt?
"I... stepped on them," Madoka manages, kneeling and handing her friend her glasses. "I-it's not completely broken at least, I guess. I'm sorry, I'm so clumsy..."
Accepting the eyewear, Homura holds them in both of her hands in front of her face for a moment, staring at the fracture in silence. What is she going to do? There's no way they'll last like this, not for long at least...
"N-No...it's not your fault..." she at least speaks up. "I should have been more careful..."
"No, no! It's not your fault, I was the one to step on them after all... I'm so sorry, Homura..." She nervously fidgets with her hands before moving to help Homura to her feet. Madoka feels so bad for being so careless and hurting something her friend needed. "Um, I can help try to fix them, if you want... the art room has a lot of glue and tape! If we tape them, it should hold up at least for the rest of the day."
Accepting Madoka's help to stand, Homura is at a bit of a loss herself, having never had glasses break like this. But Madoka at least has some kind of idea, and it does sound like something that might work.
"I'm sure you're right..." she replies, feeling a little uncertain about troubling her friend even more today. But the girl did offer. "Um...If you'd be willing to help do that sort of thing...I'd really, really appreciate it."
"Don't worry! It's my fault after all. There's nothing to really appreciate-- I'm just doing what my mama taught me to when I break something that isn't mine," she laughs a little and goes to scoop up her papers. She tucks them under her arm.
"Um, you can't see right now, right? So here--" she takes Homura's hand and gently starts to lead her down the hallway to the art room. "--Is this okay?"
The sudden hand grab almost makes Homura jump, but she quickly responds to Madoka's grip with her own and starts to follow her willingly. "Mm, it's okay," she responds, her lips shifting into ever so slight of a smile. "Thank you for being so thoughtful..."
"I'm glad I can help you," she says, looking back over her shoulder at Homura and smiling. "We're almost there..."
The art room really isn't very far away, so they enter the room and Madoka carefully lets go of Homura's hand. "One second!" She places her papers on the table and ruffles through the various tapes and glues in a box, before deciding on a strong masking tape. She brings it to her friend and holds it out. "Do you think this will be okay?"
Homura examines the tape as best as she can with her fuzzy vision, looking between it and her broken glasses held in her hand up beside it. "It looks about the right size," she says after a moment. "I think it should work."
She pauses in brief hesitation for a moment. "Um...do you think that maybe you could do it for me, Kaname-san? I'm not as good with my hands as you are..." Not to mention the trouble of not seeing it very clearly.
"Okay, I'll do it," she says, and gently takes the glasses from Homura. She carefully tapes it and as she does it, she talks. "I'm not very good with my hands either, I don't think-- I'm pretty clumsy, really... there! All done." Ah, the arm... here, let me just..." And she bends it so it's not sticking up as much, nearly the same as the other arm.
Madoka holds out the glasses for her friend, freshly taped and held together. "Done!"

It's a futile question, but one she asks nonetheless after a short pause in silence. "What was that...?"
