It is the near future. Astronaut Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is living on the far side of the moon, completing a three-year contract with Lunar Industries to mine Earth’s primary source of energy, Helium-3. It is a lonely job, made harder by a broken satellite that allows no live communications home. Taped messages are all Sam can send and receive. Thankfully, his time on the moon is nearly over, and Sam will be reunited with his wife, Tess, and their three-year-old daughter, Eve, in only a few short weeks. Finally, he will leave the isolation of “Sarang,” the moon base that has been his home for so long, and he will finally have someone to talk to beyond “Gerty,” (voiced by Kevin Spacey) the base’s well-intentioned, but rather uncomplicated computer.
But two weeks shy of his departure, Sam starts seeing things, hearing things, and feeling strange, and then he discovers he is not quite as alone as he thought..

I haven't seen the movie yet and I have no idea if this is going to be released in regular movie theaters. The UK gets it July 17th, and according to the IMDb boards it's being released in The Netherlands August 20th. Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal get it July 3rd, other Canadian cities around July 10th. I believe there's a limited US release, according to Wiki "the film will be receiving wide release across the United States on 3 July 2009 and 10 July 2009" , but I have seen zero advertising for this so idk. I love the trailer and Sam Rockwell is in it so I hope it gets the recognition it deserves!
