Here's something: every night before I go to bed I set up the coffee maker for the next morning, because if I don't that whole three minutes of dealing with water and filters and grounds just throws off my entire morning. Anyway I generally set up enough water and coffee for six regular cups or two huge mugs

My mom's machine has an option where you can pause the brew cycle long enough to sneak a cup of coffee for yourself before the whole pot's brewed. Maybe your machine invented one for itself?

In other news, the present I was planning for your birthday is SOLD OUT!, and I am really effin' pissed. Now I have to choose something else. Which will probably not be as good. Well, no, it'll probably be as good, but it's not the original plan. And I so loved the original plan.

My machine comes with that feature too, and at first I thought maybe it had stopped brewing because it wasn't all the way on the warmer and so the delay brew had kicked in, but if that were the case it never should have STARTED brewing. Thus, my haunted theory.

Now I have to choose something else. Which will probably not be as good.
