Title: In Dreaming Pairing: DM/BB implied Rating: G Disclaimer: This is a complete work of fiction, no disrespect intended. Notes: #26, for kiltsandlollies
oh, wow. this was a floating dream all on its own. also, points for making me feel sympathy for the Bloom Creature, hee. :)
Orlando wants to know why Dom doesn’t just imagine him here, but he knows already. They don’t control the dream, they only experience it, follow it to its own ends. If Dom’s is a searching dream, he will be searching forever. Just like Orlando is always falling.
oooh. *heartclench*
“I can’t wake up yet,” Dom says, his nose coming into focus briefly, his ears fading. “I have to find Bill.”
GOOD BOY.
I know this was primarily an Orlando piece, but you really make it easy to fall into the world with him. You're so good at that, the luring in. ♥
I'm sorry for sticking you with the Bloom Creature!!! I meant to write Dom/Billy for you but then the dream-theme got caught up with the falling and the Orlando and all was lost. I always seem to fail at writing pairings for you! *g* But I'm glad that you liked it, and very glad that you got caught up in the world with your boys. That's just the best. :-)
Nicely done! I imagine the setting like a desert, with heatwaves distorting the people in the distance, and shifting sand; I just reread and I was surprised to find you didn't write anything that directly implied that, you suggested just enough that I pictured something specific on my own. It's really evocative without being concrete, which suits a dream-state to a T. Wonderful.
Thank you! That's a lovely description, though, and a lot like what I was thinking when I wrote it, although nowhere near as detailed. I'm glad it wasn't too abstracted, even for a dream!
