This is a tool I don't use much (or, like, at all) so getting such a great, in-depth exploration of it is awesome. Thanks for writing this! :)

OH GOD. I never use Channel Mixer because we always end up having a fight. And look at you, you have totally tamed him! I'm in awe.
Maybe I'll give Channel Mixer another chance. Maybe.

ITS BECAUSE I DEFY THE ODDS AND IGNORE THAT SILLY 100% TOTAL THING VAL.
But taming him was relatively easy. I have faith you could whip him into shape as well. DO IT. you know you want to!

So THAT'S how your amazing coloring comes around :O Channel Mixer BAFFLES the hell out of me, and this is a lovely well written thought-out tutorial FULL OF PRETTY PICTURES! So much to learn and try, thank you! And I find funny how you found out about it when working with yellows, because time and again I've thought that NO TOOL I work with makes the yellows the way I want them. YELLOW + YOU + QUINN = OT3 ♥

LOL. Partially, I suppose. It's definitely how the blues/yellows are kept at bay. But yes, I thought that way about yellows as well, however lo-and-behold, channel mixer. I think you should play with it, at least the blue channel, and see where it takes you.
YELLOW + YOU + QUINN = OT3 ♥ It really truly is ♥ ♥ ♥

One of the perks is definitely toning down the yellows in my icons, so I can imagine it will be good for the reds as well. Good luck playing around with it - hopefully you're successful in learning to enjoy it :)
