Oh. Oh my. *flails all over* I thought you meant there'd be more at some unspecified date, not immediately. Oh god, all of this. Esca, god, you are such a stubborn thing.

If I hadn't just started reading this last night I would swear you wrote this just to fuel my desire to write for Esca. Because damn, there is so much here that I want to get into.

Ugh though, you put so many details of this era into it that I've had to use Google just figure out what some things were and there is no way I could write anything as detailed.

This story continues to bowl me over. I am so in love with your imagery - which is beautiful and vivid and so well-matched to the Marcus POV and the characterization - gosh you bring so much depth to these characters and their perspectives! I love how the reality of Esca's situation is slowly sinking in for Marcus, and the tension between them in the final scene in the triclinium was electric.

Ohhhhhhhh, man, this is brilliant, and of course Esca is not the biggest fan of Saturnalia. Mmmm. Still one of my very favorite stories--so much smart in here.
