Angst, Romance... what else... Angst?
KAT-TUN goes on a tour and Jin has to share a room with Kame. The problem is that Kame is the person Jin hates the most in the world. Can someone see the other's true self when hatred blinds him?
Warning: In this fic Jin will be quite cruel to Kame, emotionally and physically. And I mean it. If you're not comfortable with the idea then I'd sadly suggest you not to read it.
Chapter 2
“Hatred comes from the heart, contempt from the head; and neither feeling is quite within our control.” A. Schopenhauer
“Jin, wake up, Jin!”
Jin stirred and immediately groaned at feeling the pain in his neck. He was sure he had never slept on something as uncomfortable as that coach was.
Koki leaned closer with an amused smile on his lips. “Don't tell me you slept here.”
Rubbing his eyes sleepily, Jin pushed himself up. He didn't bother to answer.
“How is your arm?”
Jin shrugged his shoulders lazily. “It's fine.”
Koki sighed and sat down next to his band mate. “You know Jin, you can't sleep in the hall”, he started carefully. “If Manager-san sees you, he...”
“I know.” Jin cut him off, his voice was still thick with sleep but there was a cold edge to it, so Koki looked at him in surprise, trying to figure out what was going on in the other's mind.
Jin got up from the couch and stretched his arms out, yawning. Then he grabbed his bag and walked away towards his room without a word. Koki shook his head and a frown appeared between his eyebrows. “I just don't get him.” he mumbled to no one particular.
Jin opened the door and walked in lazily, throwing his bag on the floor. He knew that Kame was in the room, though he didn't want to look around. He felt the younger man's presence, nevertheless.
He opened his bag and pulled out some clothes, then headed to the bathroom. That was where he had to stop because Kame was standing at the bathroom door, looking at him silently, with a towel in his hand. He apparently just stepped out of the shower, his hair was still wet though he was fully dressed.
Jin inhaled deeply then raised his head and let their gazes meet; Jin's annoyed and Kame's unreadable.
“Do you think you can let me in?” Jin growled before pressing his lips together into a thin line.
Kame held his gaze for a long moment, his eyes piercing through Jin, who assumed Kame would say something as the younger man took a breath and parted his lips, eyes still locked with Jin's. But then he just lowered his look and stepped away, letting Jin pass him.
The older man marched in and slammed the door shut behind him, then turned to the mirror. His reflection was nothing like the hot and sexy top idol, Akanishi Jin. He looked like shit.
Jin heaved a long sigh and turned away. He started to unfold the bandages on his arm and winced when the fabric stuck to the bruise, due to the dried blood on it. It would have been better to go to that damn doctor last night, but Jin, as a stubborn idiot as he was, didn't listen to anyone and now all he could do was to scold himself and curse.
He took a deep breath and held it in as he tore the bandage off with a sudden movement, letting out a low groan as the fabric removed a huge part of his skin as well.
“Are you okay, Jin?” he heard the hesitant voice from the other side of the door. He turned around and vehemently flung the door open.
“It's Akanishi. And leave me alone.” he hissed at Kame but the younger man didn't budge, just roamed his eyes over the other's figure, eyes resting on the bloody wound on Jin's arm.
“You should really see that doctor, you know... Akanishi.” Kame suggested calmly, putting an unnecessary emphasis on Jin's name as he uttered.
“Mind your own business, Kamenashi.” Jin replied angrily but his eyes widened when Kame's lips curled a bit upwards.
“What's so damn funny?”
Kame tried to suppress his smile. “Nothing.”
“Great. And now would you move from door so I can close it?”
Kame let out a sigh but didn't step back. Instead, he already took the other's arm, pulled it closer to his eyes, giving Jin no time to react.
“I'll clean the wound for you...”
Kame couldn't finish because Jin suddenly jerked his arm away and freed himself from the grip. It didn't take long before his hand returned, his fingers curled around the neck of Kame's shirt and shoved the younger man to the door which made a protesting sound at the sudden contact.
Jin was breathing loudly through his nose, with his lips pursed and looked into Kame's eyes with such a disgusted look that the younger one could feel his skin bruning under the intense gaze.
“Don't touch me.” Jin said slowly, his voice low and cold like ice. He was seeing red. How could Kame be so calm? Why wasn't he scared? It just pissed him off more than he already was as he was staring into the caramel brown eyes. Kame held his gaze, his face was almost expressionless.
“Don't touch me and don't talk to me.” Jin said as he released Kame's shirt, breaking the eye contact and turned to walk into the bathroom but he was stopped once again.
“You really think we can survive here without talking to each other?” Kame asked quietly.
Jin snorted. “I will survive without talking to you, don't worry. It's your fault that we are room mates now, anyways.”
Kame lifted an eyebrow. “My fault?”
Jin released the doorknob and shot a cold glance at the younger man. “Yes. You were late.”
“You were late, too.”
“Oh, come on.” Jin raised his voice, annoyance was clear in his tone. “I'm always late, you never. What the hell has happened to the perfect Kamenashi, huh?” he took a step forward and leaned in a bit, tilting his head in a mocking way.
Kame stayed silent and tore his gaze away from Jin. He seemed to be uncomfortable and seeing his nervousness, Jin couldn't suppress a smirk. “Come on, tell me why were you late, Kazu-chan? You were busy with doing your hair? Or trimming your eyebrow?” The sarcastic edge of his voice made Kame sigh inwardly and he kept his gaze on the ground.
Jin's smirk faded and the annoyed expression returned on his face. “Just leave me alone, would you?”, he said and made another attempt to close the bathroom door, pushing Kame rudely away. The younger man stumbled a bit but then suddenly put his foot at the door, making Jin unable to close it.
The older man gave a surprised look but recovered quickly and his anger returned in an instant. His hands were shaking on the doorknob. “What now?” he yelled and tried to push Kame once again when the boy spoke and Jin's hands stopped mid-air.
“Why are you so angry?”
Jin lost his patience, though it hadn't been so much even before. “Because I hate you.”, his voice came out as a hiss, making Kame flinch a bit.
“Why?”
“Why?” Jin asked back incrediously. “Because you're annoying me. Pissing me off. I hate everything about you. Everything, you get it? You make me sick. I hate you, Kamenashi so much that I swear if you don't let me go into that fucking bathroom now, I will do something I would regret later.”
They stilled for a moment as Jin finished his ranting, Kame's eyes turned darker, his lips parted a bit, letting out a bit shaky breath.
“I see.”
Jin clenched his hands into fists when he heard how calm Kame's voice was, not showing as many emotions as his face did. They stared at each other and Jin was sure he hadn't looked at Kame so much in five years than in those few minutes.
A sudden ring of a cell phone broke the silence and Kame snapped out, stepping back. He shot a last glance at Jin then turned around to answer his call. Jin watched him with a hateful expression as the younger man said his 'hello' into the phone, a bit frowning when Kame suddenly changed his tone and started speaking in a hushed voice.
Jin rolled his eyes then turned on his heels and slammed the door shut once again behind him.

Dance rehearsal was not any better this time, too. Jin continously messed up with the moves, kept on stumbling and swaying and it felt like he was more on the ground than on his feet. And it didn't help to lighten his mood. His death glares burnt holes into everyone who tried to help him.
They all suggested to take more breaks, they told him to sit down since he was injured but Jin knew this was not the reason for his unusual clumsiness. It was Kame who distracted him. But it wasn't anything new, it happened all time.
But this time Jin felt worse. The younger one's presence was more disturbing than ever. His own words were ringing in his ears, those words he told to the boy about how much he hated him. He wanted to hurt him with those harsh words and though Kame seemed a bit hurt, it was not enough for Jin. It was far from what he had imagined.
As rehearsal went on, the control kept slipping out of Jin's hands, leaving him almost desperate. He snapped at everyone except for Kame, who didn't comment on any of the older man's words, and the others just shrugged it off, knowing that Jin had his moments and bad days, not wanting to get into a fight with him.
They didn't go to any school-like excursion that day and everyone sighed in relief that they had a kind of 'normal day' after all and didn't have to stare at meaningless paintings or take part in a therapy session of some kind.
As they finished, Koki went immediately to Kame and started chatting animatedly; cheerful words, followed by giggles and friendly teasing and Jin rolled his eyes, strolling to the door, wishing to disappear as soon as possible.
“Hey, Jin.”
Jin stopped and turned back to Koki.
“We're going to the town later, coming with us?” he asked, not missing the cold look as Jin roamed his eyes over the youngest member, who just kept drinking his water, not looking at Jin.
“Thanks, but no thanks.”
“Come on, dude.” Koki pressed further with an innocent look on his face. “We're all going, right?”
The others nodded and hummed in agreement.
“No.” Jin replied again shortly and turned away, but Koki seemingly didn't want to let the issue go.
“Jin, don't be such an asshole. Don't ruin the party.”
“Are you deaf, Koki? I said no.” Jin almost yelled then made a lazy but offending gesture towards Kame. “I don't hang out with him.”
“Jin.” Nakamaru said in a warning tone.
“It's okay, guys.” Kame said quietly and Koki looked at him, surprised.
“Is it really okay? Are you okay with how this jerk is talking about you?”
“Shut the fuck up, Koki.” Jin growled, his fists clenched. “It's already enough that I have to be in the same room with him, I won't hang out with the fucking perfect Kamenashi Kazuya.”
Koki's lips twitched and he pushed himself away from the bench on which he rested his leg, walking quickly to Jin's direction.
All of them sensed that the situation was dangerous and Ueda was the first who stood in front of Koki, trying to stop him.
“Koki, don't be stupid.”
“Me? Who is being an asshole now? That bastard can't do anything else than insulting Kame.” he spatted out angrily, trying to swat Ueda's hands away which were holding him back.
Jin was already only a few meters away, raising his fist, his face flushed in anger. “What did you say?”
Taguchi and Nakamaru stepped to him at the same time, gripping him by the wrist.
“Jin, go away.” Nakamaru said firmly, looking into Jin's eyes. “Go away now. Come on.”
Jin gave a snort and jerked his hands away, picking his towel up from the ground, storming out of the door. He hated Koki too. But it was all because of Kame. Kame was the one who made him turn into a monster and attack his friends. Well, those who used to be his friends.

When Kame returned to the apartment, he found Jin in the small living room, walking back and forth in a frantic pace, fuming in anger. When Kame stepped in, Jin stilled and looked at the boy. Kame was still holding his water bottle in his hand and looked back at him calmly as usual.
Jin walked to him with slow steps and with a sudden movement knocked the bottle out of the younger man's hand and let it fall to the ground with a loud bang, then roll on the floor until it hit the wall and stopped. Then silence fell on them once again, both refusing to move or look away and Kame slowly lowered his hands to his side, no longer being anything to hold in them.
Jin made a disgusted face, a familiar feeling rising up from his stomach and crawling upwards until every inch of his body was burning with it. Then he exploded.
Kame's jaw was grabbed in a painfully strong grip and he was shoved onto the table which was standing in the middle of the living room. The small of his back hit the edge hard and he lost his balance, falling onto the cold surface of the table, knocking a glass down which shattered into pieces on the floor.
Jin was hovering above the younger man, his fingers dug into the sensitive skin of Kame's jaw and cheeks, gripping it with such a force that his knuckles turned white.
Kame groaned in pain, not being able to decide which hurt more, the contact his back made with the table or Jin's fingers around his jaw. He made an attempt to get free and grabbed the other's wrist while trying to peel the fingers off of him with no success. Jin was strong and the anger made him even stronger.
The older man smirked when he saw how Kame was struggling to no avail.
“Are you satisfied now?”, he hissed through his teeth. “Are you happy that they all hate me now? You did it on purpose, didn't you? You want them all to hate me and you can be the victim they are so eager to protect.”
Kame frowned, his expression reflected confusion. “What the hell are you talking about?”
Jin snorted and leaned closer, his breath felt hot on Kame's face and Jin vaguely sensed how his body was pressed to the other, being in a quite awkward position. “Don't play innocent, Kamenashi. Don't mess with me. I'm going to make your life a living hell while we're in this room.”
Something flashed in Jin's eyes and the sight was scary enough for Kame to hold his breath. Jin's grip tightened around the younger one's jaw and Kame had to squeeze the edge of the table to prevent himself from crying out.
“I fucking hate you.” Jin said, each word left his mouth like a curse and Kame felt goose bumps on his arms.
Then Jin suddenly released him and Kame's head fell back, hitting the table hard. He heard the door slam shut before he winced by both pain and the harsh sound. He was breathing heavily for another few minutes, lying on the same spot before he could finally stand up.

Jin needed a drink. Unfortunately, there was no pub or even a damn café in this godforsaken town. He had no other choice than strolling around aimlessly until he calmed down and started to feel the exhaustion that slowly took over his body.
After two hours of walking his mucles were screaming and burning, making him stop and walk back to the direction of the hotel.
He didn't want to go back, he was sick of the thought that Kame would be back in a few hours after spending some friendly hours with the rest of the band, chatting happily and carelessly. And he was not fond of the idea that they would sleep in the same bed that night.
He knew that he crossed the line when he hurt Kame physically but he couldn't care less. He still couldn't see anything in Kame's eyes that told he was afraid of Jin but he was in pain and that was enough for now. He was satisfied knowing that he was not the only one who was affected by what happened.
Yes, Jin admitted he was affected. He didn't want to hurt anyone, he wasn't an aggressive person even if he sometimes could offend others with his words. Physical abuse was something he had always despised. And that was what was bothering him the most. Kame was able to provoke things he had never imagined to do or feel. Kame turned him into an other person. Or an animal, more precisely.
Jin tried to empty his confused mind as he reached the hotel. He walked lazily to their room, sensing the silence that surrounded him. So they were not back yet.
The moment his key slid into the lock, a voice caught his attention. He curiously turned his head to the direction of the sound and walked to the back door of the hotel on the other end of the corridor.
Through the glass door he could see the slender figure in the garden, wrapped in the darkness of the night. He frowned as he was trying to make out the dark shapes of the person.
He stayed like that for a few minutes then his lips curved into a smirk when he finally recognized him and saw what he was doing out there. He turned back and went into the room, not bothering to switch the lights on, just sitting down on the chair in the living room.
A few minutes later the door opened and the slender figure that Jin had seen in the garden stepped in, softly closing the door.
“You surprised me, Kamenashi.”
The figure stiffened and froze in one spot in the middle of the room, Jin could only see the pair of shining eyes in the dark and assumed that the other couldn't see much more of him either.
Kame stayed silent but his body was tense.
“Who would have thought that you break the rules? Having a guest here is against the rules, but I guess you already know that.”
There was a hint of smile in Jin's cold voice and he himself felt very amused by the situation, a strange feeling of satisfaction filled his mind.
Kame shifted his balance but didn't say a word and Jin wanted to see the younger man's expression so much, when he was trapped like this in a situation he had no control over.
Jin's smirk widened and his eyes flashed dangerously in the dark. “What would you do to make me keep your secret?”
