The Deal 03./16.

the deal 03.
Akame, (Ryoda)
R; Romance, Humor, Angst, Friendship
Jin is a singer and he desperately needs a dancer for his upcoming show. Kame is a dancer and he has some trouble with bad guys. The two meet and hate each other but they have no other choice so they make a deal.

If one side breaks the rules, the other has the right to make him pay for it

When Jin opened the door for Kame the next morning he dropped his coffee mug onto the floor.

“What happened to you, Kamenashi?” he asked disbelievingly.

“I fell off my bed”, Kame stated as if it was the most natural thing in the world that falling off the bed causes injuries that look like exactly as if someone would have punched you right in the eye. The big glasses he was wearing didn’t help him to hide the purple spot at all.

Jin examined Kame’s face wondering if he should just punch the boy in the other eye in order to express his displeasure about Kame’s answer. But then he dropped the idea and let the young man walk inside his house. The singer forced himself to keep to their second deal and not to go any further in asking about the bruise on the boy’s face. But he couldn’t ignore the voice in him whispering that Kame’s black eye had something to do with the strange phone call he got yesterday.

Koki arrived five minutes later and they started practicing in the huge dancing room. Everything was going smoothly except the occasional phone calls that Jin kept getting from his manager and which interrupted the course of their practice every now and then.

Jin admitted that Kame was even more talented than he thought, even after he had seen him dancing the day before. The boy could remember every dance move after seeing it once and repeated it with utmost preciseness, no matter how difficult it was. Jin was watching him carefully the whole day, looking for any sign of discomfort on his face that would show that the boy had other injuries. He was too proud to ask the younger man directly. He didn’t want Kame to misunderstand him and think that he was worried. Because he was not. Not about Kame, to be exact. It would have been very bothersome if it had turned out that the boy wouldn’t be able to perform their dance moves properly because of a broken rib or a dislocated shoulder.

But Jin found nothing suspicious. Kame was as cheerful and loud as before, and behaved as if nothing had happened. He shouted with excitement when Koki showed him the drafts he made of their costumes for the concert and cursed with annoyance every time Jin turned the music off in the middle of a song to answer the phone.

At one of these occasions, while Jin was busy with checking dates with his manager, Kame lost his patience and decided to take a break. He waved to Koki to follow him and they sneaked out of the room without Jin noticing it.

“Kame, I don’t think it’s a good idea. Jin’s gonna be very angry.”, Koki whined and when he saw Kame heading for the stairs that lead up to the bedrooms,  his the eyes widened “Kame, what are you doing? You can’t go there!”, he hissed.

“Relax, Koki! I wanted to see the whole house since I entered here yesterday. But that baka Bakanishi was so rude that he didn’t even show me around”, Kame giggled as he reached the the top of the stairs. Koki ran after him and shook his head in disagreement. The boy was really stubborn, just like Jin and he didn’t really like the idea of being between two fires if the singer would become aware of the fact that Kame invaded his most private sector in the house without permission.

The younger boy opened every door carefully and popped his head into each room.

“Wow, it’s gorgeous!”, he whispered in amazement “I wonder how it feels to live alone in a huge mansion like this. I’m sure I would feel lonely”, he mumbled. Because Jin lived alone, he knew. All the rooms were large and furnished sumptuously but they were like settings behind a display window, distant and lifeless without anything personal. ‘Well, if Bakanishi was lonely, it was okay. He deserves it anyway, for being so full of himself’, Kame thought.

He reached the end of the corridor and only two rooms left which he hasn’t seen yet. He opened the door of one on the right side and stepped in. He looked around slowly and chuckled.

“That’s it! His bedroom!”, he said. ‘I’m in the famous Akanishi Jin’s bedroom. Hah! How many girls would be jelous if they knew’, Kame chuckled for himself then turned to take a closer look at the place. It was a bit messy but it has a cozy atmosphere with discs and papers lying everywhere. It was just so typical of Akanishi Jin.

Kame tore his gaze away and turned back to step out of the room. He knew his limits after all. And that was enough. He closed the door behind only to open the other one in front of Jin’s bedroom.

When he stepped in he stopped in his tracks and just stared at the view in front of him. It seemed like a storeroom, boxes and old clothes were stuffed in the small place, covered with dust. The only clean spot was a cushioned armchair and a small table in the corner. On the table there were handwritten letters and a framed picture. Kame picked it up and brought it closer to his eyes and he regretted immediately leaving his glasses in the practice room, but he could tell even through his slightly blurred vision that the woman on the picture was beautiful. She had cheery eyes and on her face there was a gentle smile.

“Koki, who is this woman?”, he asked curiously the other man. Koki just shook his head and shrugged his shoulders.

“I don’t know… Kame, I think we should go back”, the man said nervously.

Kame was still staring at the picture but nodded. He put the photo back on the table then turned to leave this very very strange room.

ӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿ

Kame was still deep in his thoughts when they reached the bottom of the stairs. ‘It seems like even a super sexy idol has some secrets’, Kame thought. He wondered what kind of secrets they were. Could it be that the man had painful memories that he wanted to shut in that dark, dusty room?

Thinking about some possibilities he turned to walk into the dining room and headed towards the glass door that overlooked the backyard. Koki followed him outside where the sun was shining warmly and cool breeze was stroking the trees. They stopped beside the swimming pool and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

That was how Jin found them two minutes later.

“What the hell are you doing here?”, he yelled furiously and marched out towards the boys.

Kame blinked at him innocently “We’re taking a break, of course.” He said and flashed a sweet smile at the other man for the greater effect.

Jin took a few deep breaths but it didn’t really help so he just continued shouting “And who gave you the permission…”

“Come on, Akanishi, I’m not your slave!”, Kame cut him off and he started to raise his voice “And you were the one who was so lovey-dovey with his cellphone all day. So you have no right…”

“I have every right, you know, since it’s gonna be my concert and I had to make a fucking good performance to save my ass from my manager”, Jin took a step forward and he was staring at Kame with such an anger that the boy could swear he saw sparks in the singer’s eyes.

“So that’s what it is all about!!”, Kame shouted “I don’t care if you are a damn idol, Akanishi! You know what you are? An extremely conceited and totally ridiculous stupid jerk, who doesn’t have even the slightest idea how to respect and treat people. I just pity you!!!”, Kame ranted in one breath then he stopped yelling as he was panting hard and silence fell on them. It seemed that even the birds stopped singing to make the situation more dramatic.

Jin was staring blankly at the boy, a muscle jerked on his neck and he was inhaling dreadfully slow. Kame gulped. He started to prepare himself for jumping aside if the man would decide to use their strength to put an end to their argument.

Jin took one more step forward without looking away from the boy’s faintly frightened eyes. Kame felt that Jin was very close. Too close, actually. He could smell the man’s fragrance in his nose and it clouded his mind a little. He could see those full lips which Jin now licked softly and Kame felt his own lips being watched by the other man. And he could see those brown orbs which made his legs weak. And when he suddenly felt Jin’s touch on his shoulder, he froze in one spot and held his breath.

Jin grabbed his shoulders softly and then a gentle smile appeared on his face. Kame couldn’t think but if he could this would have been the perfect moment when he should have started to freak out. But he didn’t.

Jin leaned forward and when a shiver ran through the younger boy’s body because of feeling the man’s warm breath on his ears, he whispered huskily “If one side break the rules, the other has the right to make him pay for it.” he paused for a moment “You broke the rules, so I guess I have to punish you now.”

Kame felt the urge to agree, but then just bit his lips, not that he could utter any words, especially when he felt Jin’s hands tightening his grip a bit and he could only melt into the sensation. ‘Oh, God, what is happening?’, it ran through Kame’s mind but he didn’t have to keep wondering about it and waiting for an answer any longer…

…because in the next moment he found himself under water. ‘Whaaaaaat? Cold!!!’, Kame screamed in his head as he was fluttering to keep his head above water level. Cold liquid filled his nose and ears and he thought it was the time to finally start panicking.

“Help…. help me… HEEEELP!”, he choked “I… I can’t… swim!!! Help me! I.. can’t breathe… I…”

“Then stop fluttering and put you feet down”, a very amused voice can be heard from not very far away.

Kame did as he was told and was more than surprised when he found the bottom of the pool easily and saw that the water level was not high enough even to reach his nipples. He stilled and tried to draw some air in his burning chest as he was coughing hard.

“Idiot! If you can’t swim, why did you say you wanted to try the swimming pool?”

Kame turned around and saw a very cheerful Akanishi Jin crouching at the edge of the pool and chuckling quietly.

“I… I just wanted to put my feet in it…”, Kame mumbled ashamed then he lifted up his head suddenly and tried to kill Jin with a murderous glance. “I could have died here, you know…”

But Jin just burst out laughing and he stood up to go and get a towel for the sulking boy. Kame climbed out of water with the help of Koki then he took off and threw his soaked shirt and pants on the marble floor. He was trembling violently by the air that felt extremely cold on his wet skin, however, it didn’t stop him mumbling curses and coming up with evil plans against his arch enemy.

“Just wait, Akanishi Jin, just wait until I find a way to wipe that arrogant smile of yours off your face”, he said firmly then sneezed a few times.

ӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿ

Kame was looking at his friend and was smiling playfully.

“Tat-chan, you’re gonna kill me with that expression that you’re wearing on your face. Why don’t you just blurt it out?”, he said.

Four days passed after the swimming pool incident and Kame was eager to meet his best friend, especially because of that weird conversation which took place between them after Kame had managed to climb out of the pool.

ӿӿFlashbackӿӿ

“Tat-chaaaaan”, Kame whined into the phone.

“Kame!!...What’s wrong?”, Ueda’s voice was somehow pretty much out of character but Kame didn’t notice it first.

“That bastard threw me into the pool and you know that I can’t swim!”, he complained loudly, then lowered his voice suddenly and whispered with eyes wide open “Tat-chan, I think he’s planning to kill me” then he added “Seriously!”

The boy was sitting on the marble floor and was watching Jin’s evil grin across the glass. Kame pulled the towel closer to his shivering body and tried to stop their teeth clashing. He was still beside the swimming pool as he refused to go back inside the house and be under the same roof with that idiotic madman.

“I… I see…”, came the hesitant and indifferent answer from Ueda as if the two were talking about the weather or some other topic of the kind. Kame frowned.

“And… and you’re okay?”, Ueda managed to ask.

“I’m not”, Kame snapped and before he could have started complaining again a loud groan came from the other end of the line.

“Uhm… Tat-chan? Are you feeling okay? Are you sick?”, Kame asked worriedly.

“Ah… hahaha”, Ueda laughed nervously, “not really…”

“Ok, then.” Kame answered toughtfully.

“Kame, I’m working right now you know… what if I call you back later?”

“Ok.”, Kame said then added before Ueda could hang up “Tat-chan, why don’t we meet up later? I really need a drink.”

“I’m sorry I can’t…” Ueda said firmly.

Kame pouted. “Why not? I’m coming to your workplace to pick you up”

“Noooo! I’m not there!”, Ueda yelled then let out another groan.

Kame frowned. “But you said you’re working.”

“I… I’m… helping out at a friend’s place.”

Kame raised an eyebrow. Helping out? So is this the newest term for having sex in Ueda’s dictionary? His thoughts were cut off by a loud moan and Kame was sure he had heard enough.

“Ok, then, bye!”, he said quickly and hung up. What the hell was that? So he was right and Ueda was seeing someone. ‘But who is it?’, he wondered ‘Can it be…? I wouldn’t be surprised…’, he meditated then he started to chuckle. ‘No, that’s impossible! It can’t be him!’

ӿӿEnd of Flashbackӿӿ

Ueda was staring in front of him with an unreadable expression and a dark red face then waved his hands and tried to change the topic.

“So what about Akanishi? You’re having the concert tomorrow, right?”, he asked.

Kame nodded. “Three more weeks… three more weeks and I can get rid of that moron. I have to come up with a plan as soon as possible”, he said.

“What plan?”

“A plan which is called ‘How To Take Revenge On A Stupid Jerk So He Won’t Fancy Himself So Much And How To Teach Him That Despising Others Is Not A Very Appealing Feature Even If He Is A Fucking Idol’”, Kame yelled with excitement.

Ueda gaped. “Don’t you think you should find a nickname for this plan of yours? It would be quite bothersome hearing this every time you talk about Akanishi, which, I guess, you will a lot.”

“What are you talking about? I didn’t even wanna talk about him…” Kame stopped as his phone beeped in his pocket. He quickly flipped it open and read the message. Ueda saw that his friend’s face darkened.

“What happened?”

Kame smiled but somehow it was not as cheerful as before. “Nothing much, I have to go, I’m sorry”, he stood up.

“Kame…”

“I’m sorry I really have to go, give Ryo my best regards!”

“Hey! I see him as often as you do, neither more nor less!”, Ueda snapped angrily.

Kame smiled. “Ok, whatever. Take care”, he said and walked out of the pub.

ӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿ

Jin was sitting in another pub, different from which he used to go, because he didn’t want to run into Kame. He wanted to talk about him, no, he wanted to complain about him, but he didn’t want to see him. Not at all. So he chose another bar and waited for Yamapi.

When the man arrived Jin waved at him then frowned.

“You look like someone who didn’t get enough sleep for weeks. Is everything ok?”, he asked the other man.

Yamapi smiled “Yeah… I’m just working too much. So what about the concert? How is it going? It’s hot in here, don’t you think?” he added and started to fan himself with the menu.

“No, I didn’t notice”, Jin said “And it’s going very well, tomorrow we’re doing something great, I can promise you. I have to admit that Kamenashi is very useful even if I’m having a hard time with bearing him.”

“Really?” Yamapi asked and fidgeted nervously in his seat. “And how’s his injury?”

“Well, it’s almost completely…wait!”, Jin cried out. “How do you know about it?”

Yamapi snorted “You told me about it, baka! I think it is you who should get some sleep.”

“Did I?” Jin wondered “I don’t remember.”

“God, it’s really hot in here”, Yamapi sighed and he rolled up his sleeves to chill his skin.

“You’ve got a scratch on your arm! How did you get that?”, Jin exclaimed.

Yamapi paled “That? Oh, I.. I…”

Jin frowned and leaned closer to his friend. “Did you fight?”, he knew that his friend used to fight a lot in the past and he had dealings with some bad guys. If he was in trouble again, Jin wanted to know.

Yamapi sighed “I didn’t.”

“Pi, I thought you quit fighting.”

“I did. I really did”, the man protested and Jin felt that something was not right with his best friend. Then a frightening thought started to from in his head. The scratch on Yamapi’s arm… the bruise on Kame’s face… Yamapi’s weird behaviour… Kame’s secret phone calls… and how the hell did he know that Kame got beaten up? Because Jin was sure he didn’t mention it to him. He didn’t even talk to each other since then. No it’s not possible… it can’t be that Yamapi… that he was the one who… no way!!

Jin sat frozen for a moment and tried to brush the upsetting idea away. Then he smiled and gulped from his beer.

“Ok, let’s change the subject! Now let me complain about that stupid Kamenashi, because if I had to hold it back any longer, I think I’m gonna explode”

Yamapi sighed and seemed to be much more relaxed “Go ahead!”

ӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿӿ

Two hours later Jin was walking in the dark, empty street alone. He needed to take a walk to let the fresh air brush the alcohol and the disturbing thoughts away.

Although he was deep in thoughts he lifted his head when he heard footsteps. It sounded so loud since there was noone in the street. He saw a man crossing over the road hurriedly. It had a familiar figure. Jin stood with narrowed eyes and when he recognized the man he almost cried out loud. ‘Kamenashi!!!’

Jin stopped in his tracks and started to think what to do. Where was he going in such a hurry? Why did he turn into that dark alley which noone would ever choose on his way home? And Jin, instead of turning on his heels and keeping up to their second deal, moved his legs forward and followed Kame.

The boy stopped in front of a black car which parked in the alley. Jin hid behind a container and watched.

Kame handed something to the man in the car. They talked but Jin didn’t hear anything and he didn’t dare to risk by going closer. Then the man opened the door furiously and jumped out of the car. Kame told him something and the man suddenly grabbed the boy’s collars and shoved him to the wall.

Jin’s body tensed. He felt that adrenaline starts to run through his veins and unconsciously stepped forward in order to interfere but he jumped back when he saw that the man released Kame. The boy was explaining something with arms lifted in the air as he was defending himself. The man throw a small package to the boy then sat back into his car and drove away.

Kame stood there for a while then shoved the package into his pocket and walked away.

Jin let out a deep breath and rested his head against the wall. So was that it? Drugs? He felt annoyed and a little bit disappointed. But above all he was very angry. Why Kame? He wasn’t the type who lets himself being involved in some dirty business for his own pleasure. Why him? Jin didn’t know, but he decided to find it out.
