... is it sad that the first thing I jumped to was "Frannie as a cop!" I suspect that any ending that did something awesome with Frannie would probably win my heart forever and always, regardless of how the guys turned out. *g*
(But yes! I think that it is a very compelling question. I probably wouldn't be around to contribute anything to the discussion until tonight, but I want to read what others think! I ♥ alternative history.)
ETA: And I realized I never gave you hugs re: your fic angst! *hugs and hugs and hugs* Your team is going to kick ass, and that is due in no small part to your presence on it. :o)
I'm glad you sent it off and stopped tweaking - I know it'll be good.
How would I have ended dS?
Okay: Fraser & Kowaslki return to Chicago after the case. Kowalski goes back to where he was or even hooks back up with Stella (or both). Vecchio returns to his job and he and Fraser go on being partners. Fraser gets some kind of promotion but still stays as liaision officer.
Frannie does not have six children. The Duck-boys don't go into stand-up comedy. Welsh stays. Thatcher does get promotion and moves on. Turbull does not go into politics.
As for the six children . . . Hmmmmmmm. I think as much as I do rather like Bobby, that might be a tad too far. OTOH, it's not MPREG and if anyone can pull it off, you can. Are the kiddies Frannie's?
Nikki-canon is one I agree with very much. For NCIS as well. I always like to keep it in mind. I do indeed. I was struggling to think of somehting and when you suggested that I was very much - Yes.
Indeed.
You know I do have a WIP I could shoehorn into this...it is one about Ray and Stella's kid (I think I went with Daniel for that child. I never like to repeat names in kidfiuc. So there is one this name one that name...I think the only i time I fudged that was Elena. I used that in the eggpreg and a Fraser Mpreg...where was I? Oh yes Daniel was going to be Ray and Stella's son only she wasn't the kid rearing type and Ray ends uo raising him).
So using that I could just go with one child and that could work I mean same basic idea.
And still jettison the six kids. I can find a way to explain that away.
Am pondering a question over at ds_meta inspired by all the talk about the original scripted ending to dS.
I haven't got that far back yet (assuming it's somewhere on my flist). I did read the original scripted ending though. It was certainly a lot more sensible than the one we got. I'm still in two minds about it. On the one hand it's more realistic and better for some characters. Though it's a sadder ending for Fraser, imho. It's like all of his years living in Chicago and the friendships he built up with the two Rays as well as the other cops, none of that effected him and he's right back where he started. And he's content to be there on his own with Diefenbaker.
how would you have ended the show? Not which do you prefer canon or script but how would you end it?I'm not entirely sure. I wouldn't have had the mad 6 kid ending for Frannie. She'd have become a cop most likely, if she could resolve the hat issue. Huey and Duey wouldn't have opened a comedy club. Not sure what I'd have done with Thatcher, but Welsh would have had the

There is a fair bit of discsussion about from when the ending first appeared. I think it works out better for everybody and in a way that ending fits with the more tragic Fraser of season 1 but it fdoes seem sad he doesn't stay in touch.
I wouldn;t have had the 6 kids for Frannie ending. I think her as a cop would be a better ending for her. I htink it would have been nice to see more of the Fraser and Vecchio interaction, it really would.

I will have to go post it over at ds_meta to see what discussion appears. Although I;ve been sucked in TVTropes for the past 2 hours...
Awwww *hugs* Thank you. I know the team has some awesome whimsical fics. Thank you for thinking of me :-)

I would like to subscribe once more to the Nikki school of canon. I like that idea very much, combines the best of both worlds I think.
I should really get going with the other Bobby bunnies. I was pondering 2 otopins, well 2 1/2.
1) Some are Frannie's, some are Maria's (she's on vacation) one is Ray's.
2) One is Ray's rest are Frannie's.
Either way trying to negate the whole 6 kids by immaculate conception ending.

Why thank you. Nikki-canon school does seem to be a good one at times, I like to think :-) I'm glad you think so.
Ahhhh.
Oh, yes, that's Ray/Stella's kiddie, is it not?
Anything to get rid of that would be cool.
