it's good to see that you're still around... you'll make it through these rough times with baby... from one mother to another, there will be times were your heart feels like it's being torn in two just to do what is best for you and your family... good luck with everything

i know it sounds callous and awful, but it does have to be learned, both by the infant and parent, that baby crying can't always mean immediate attention. I remember rather powerfully long evenings in our apartment, sitting on the couch trying to do something, but really sitting there listening to the little boy, soooo mad at me for not being there to pick him up. And now that i've been trained, it makes the toddler time when crying truly becomes a tool of purposeful manipluation a bit easier to handle.

congrats on the NYC tickets!

I'll mention it to Ed today, but I am really hoping you will join us for D&D nights. I'll feel better about stealing your husband if you're playing, too.

Come play Audrey! I too will probably be playing! :)

And yay you've updated your LJ!

Sorry about the baby. :( It should get better. You know as a kid I always thought it was me who had the rough time in the child/parent relationship. Obviously my parents were just being mean by not letting me do everything I wanted. Now I think my parents were really the ones with the rough time.

My son had a similar problem with sleeping. He'd wake up several times throughout the night. Our doctor was also on my case to let him cry it out (which I couldn't do). We later found out that he has an allergy to dairy proteins which would give him severe stomach cramping (sometimes vomitting) when he'd lay down for a while. The doctor never bothered to consider that there may be something more to the situation than me "overmothering" my baby. And it took another doctor to suggest the problem and test for it once Scot was 5 years old. The poor child had been living with this for 5 years because my dumbass doctor is an idiot.

Not that I'm saying this is your case as well, but just consider that there may be other things affecting your baby. *hug* I hope your trip to New York goes over great. :)
