rzyna has been poking me to update more often, so I suppose this is as good a time as any.

While I've been reading awesome anime con reports from a lot of my f-list, I've got a con of my own to report. Not quite the same kind of con though.

I liked that shawl. If it's not fashionable enough at the moment, it will be again in a few years. ^_^

Knitting must be good when one is stressed. It looks so relaxing. Is it?
I must admit I'm terrible at knitting. (And everything else that includes needles, yarn, cloth etc. I'm not good at this 'female' stuff.)

I think it's relaxing. It's a lot of fun too, because you get to create something that you use, rather than just something you hang on the wall or look at, like I did with needlepoint. I've almost got my first sweater done, I'll have to post a picture when it's finished!

I also like to knit when I watch TV or watch anime on my computer. It gives my hands something to do, and I've gotten good enough that I can even watch subtitled anime without missing anything. Plus, if you're tired, it can be enough activity to keep you awake!

I'm not particularly good at 'female' stuff either, normally. I'm only decent at knitting because my friend Meghan taught me, and she's amazing at it.

Oooh, Ooooh, really pretty yarns! And sock yarns are thin enough to embroider with! These get my craving for crazy quilting going again! I REALLY need to finish painting and setting up my studio in September so I'm set to stitch again come autumn. It's been a great year for the house and yard and gardens... but I haven't touched needle to thread in ages! Maybe when we get together to write in the fall--we WILL get together for that, RIGHT?!--we should come armed with our pointy needles and knit and stitch, too.

When we get together we'll definitely have to bring our projects. It's fun to have something for your hands to do when you're fangirling!

As for when we get together... I don't know. The fall is coming so quickly, and I've already got plans for Yaoi con again this year. But we'll find some time. If not this fall, then next spring! We'll definitely do it!

The colors are gorgeous. And I wear wraps all the time when I go out all dressed up, so a shawl like that would be very handy, especially when made of such fine material.

I don't dress up very often, so I hadn't thought about using it like a wrap. I'll have to do that, whenever it finally gets made! Sometime in the next decade! Hee!

*giggles that the image of women with pointy needles instead of cosplayers*

*giggles more at the comment about the men who were there*

*giggles madly at the image over Ishida enjoying the con*

Those yarns are simply beautiful!! I really like the Lagoon! And I think that shawl would be gorgeous. I can't wear things that are too heavy, so I think that would be really nice. (LOVE those colors!!!!) I don't knit well at all and I barely crochet, but I used to sit and loom weave hot pads and other table settings. I still have my looms and my sister is always bugging me to make her some more. I haven't done it in ages, but with some yarns like these, I might be tempted to drag them out again. It's very soothing and especially good when you're sitting around chit-chatting. I'd love to see more of your finished projects. I think I would have had a lot of fun at that con. I know my mother would. She is into quilting still, but she likes yarn things as well. I need to find a quilting con to take her to. Thanks for showing us this. Sometimes it's nice to see something a little bit different!!
