Why are forums so full of idiots?

Some twat just commented on a post I made on the Galbadia Hotel forums, and instead of thanking me for the music I uploaded, instead decided to tell people not to bother because of the sound quality

I have people who read my fanfics ask me to go to these castlevania forums but because of all the character bashing, I stay away from there. And then, if not all that, I tried to make peace at one MGS fansite and they called me a kissass and now I can't go to any MGS fansite because of all the dirt a certain someone spread about me.

It just aggravates me - people should have the right to contribute to a forum without feeling like they're going to be bitched at. But, eh, I've known for years that forums are full of wankers. I just risk a few of them sometimes. :\

Oh don't get me wrong; I agree that people should have the right to go to a forum without problem, it's just hard not to. It's even harder to fit in without having to be an asshole to fit in. Forums are like middle and high school all over again...

Don't worry, I know what you mean - I must've worded what I said wrong. :) But, yeah, it is hard to not get hassle for no reason. I tend to not get involved in most forums (I tend to browse a few on occasion, but then I have to leave when they start pissing me off too much - sometimes I don't even know why I bother with the trainwrecks that are the IMDb forums, or assorted gaming forums like the GameSpot/IGN ones...), but the ones I do get involved in... for the most part, they're okay, but every so often an elitist bastard or a troublemaker comes along to stir up something.
