So before I continue on to the wonderful parts of this fic that are to come, I thought I'd take a moment to let you know that you've already got me hooked from the prologue. I usually don't even read prologues!!

It’s horribly cliché and stereotypical, but Africa’s become the black market of the world (no pun intended), a seedy underground rife with drug cartels and wars, populated with arms dealers and people I don’t even want to know about.

Hmm... not sure how to feel about that line, though the premise of this fic sounds interesting...

I don't know, I think it's realistic. If you're extrapolating from present-day circumstances. Many countries in Africa are run by cartels now, and it's a paramilitary disaster over there anyway; corrupt governments, a starving populous, the whole nine yards. So this is definitely conceivable in a post-apocalyptic world. Also consider that this is from Ariadne's point of view, so you have to take into account her own perspective.
