Takes place while this is going on.One thing that DJ hadn't counted on when he had left the apartment after saying that he would be checking on the restaurant was that the night before Michael had heard part of his and Becca's conversation, about how they needed to talk alone. If Michael was anything like DJ, she knew he would be driving. Of course, he couldn't now, so that meant he was doing something even worse: walking. Absolutely not! It wasn't acceptable. She had stayed behind at home while Dewey-Chan went to the coffee shop. She didn't really want to be in that type of atomosphere that she knew would be created during that time. She'd rather go to Chuck E Cheese's or something. Ha... Hitting Michael's speed number, she waited for him to answer.

When the phone started ringing, Michael stared at the caller ID for a moment, unsure if he even wanted to answer. Not because it was Heather, but because talking to anybody was...well, not something he wanted to do.

At the same time, though, he needed to hear a voice other than the thoughts that kept running through his head. So...taking a deep breath, he answered. "Hey, you."

Becca dialed Michael's cell as she left the parking lot of the doughnut shop. She didn't intend to keep Michael from knowing that she and DJ had talked, just wanted to get it out of the way before telling him. She had a pretty good idea that Michael was enough like her not to stay cooped up indoors so she was trying his cell first.

At the second ring, Michael picked up but without checking the caller ID. "Yeah?"
