I was thinking of getting Jeff a raincatcher bucket for Father's Day. We are trying hard to become more green. We planted a bunch of stuff this weekend for food. He is using the Square Foot Gardening approach.

Rainbarrels are good, especially if you have gutters. Some towns offer them free, and some charge a more-or-less nominal amount ($25 or less). We have three and I use them for non-essential watering, and some essential watering if I am not feeling lazy. One has its hose directed to the cherry tree, and about once a month I open it up and let it dump ~100 gallons of water on the tree, and the tree likes this. (It's on the side of a hill and in very well-drained soil, so 100 gallons doesn't flood it.)
