...*guh*. That was incredibly hot. And you got their personalities spot-on. I'm really glad you're continuing this fic! I want to see Remus admiring Sirius as he sleeps. :)
What is the title of the book Sirius talks about, by the way?
Thanks for reading and commenting, Mirth. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Cookies? :)
The book, well, that's an invention of my own. Maybe I should provide a translation... It means "The Werewolves' Customs" -- though I can't think of a better word for 'custom' right now.
Mind if I friend you? I'd like to read more of your writing. And I'm over 18 (nearly 20), as I saw in your info. (no idea how to prove that, but...)
And completely random question: what does 'aillil' mean? I ask because I like to know the meanings of people's names...I actually own several baby-name books, which makes people raise their eyebrows at me when they find them. *g* If it's personal of anything, feel free to ignore the question!
Friend away, I'll friend you right back. You needn't prove your age, I believe you. *ggg*
You're the first to ask after my name. It's an Old Irish male name, I'll have to look up the meaning again, though. In the Old Irish texts, Aillil is the husband of Medb, the queen of Leinster, who was actually quite a tyrant (at least she is depicted as such), and Aillil himself is usually seen as an impersonation of the weak male per se. I was intruiged by that when reading the famous pillow talk between the two of them, which starts the Táin Bó Cuailgne, one of the major Old Irish texts; and with those you never know what is Christian propaganda and what is not.
...question about the title of the book, however -- shouldn't it be "hoi lykanthropoi" "or ton lykanthropon" for it to be correct? The article and the noun should match up. Just a thought...;;
...sorry, kind of a language whore.
But really, I didn't comment to criticize you -- just wanted to say that I enjoyed your fic :)
It just took me a minute to believe that someone would actually go back in my journal and read this. :)
Thank you so much! You know the story's just been made into a comic strip by remeciel? If you're interested, you can view it here, not dial-up friendly though.
shouldn't it be "hoi lykanthropoi" "or ton lykanthropon" for it to be correct?
No, because lykanthropon is a genitive plural (the last o is actually an omega, which doesn't come out in the transcription, of course), and hoi is congruent with nooi. This is the usual unmarked genitive construction for Classical Greek in a determined/specified noun phrase: determiner--genitive--noun.
...sorry, kind of a language whore.
Don't be sorry! It's always so nice to see someone else actually pay attention to the ancient languages! :)
Yeah, I knew about the genative plural, which is why I was confused about the article. ^^;;
I read the comic first, actually -- it was on my f-list because of a R/S comm, which is why I got the URL to this story in the first place...it's great.
I just checked it, and it was indeed remeciel who posted about an update in the R/S comic strip she and I are doing together, and while she was at it linking my fic of which she's made a comic, too, which is much better than the written version. :)

Remus and Sirius are made for each other.
I should think that's why there're so many R/S shippers, don't you think?
And that book, oh, I had so much fun with it... *g*

I'm curious: How did you find this? Via the comic strip remeciel made out of it for my birthday?
