This is a sword art, not aikido, but...it made me laugh too much not to share. What happens when someone skilled in something with no practical application is noticed by Japanese TV?

Isao Machii! It seems to be some parlor tricks, but he is good. I've seen him slice sheet metal clean through and to cut unsecured bamboo without disturbing the bamboo.

It is a good thing there are subtitles. Otherwise it would just sound like a foreign language from some island nation on the opposite side of the globe.

I don't think you need to understand any Japanese to follow what's going on....its all pretty visual...
