Ugh, home ownership!

Does one really have to the trouble of suing the council/city to fix these things there? A few months ago, our neighbour complained (nothing new, the day she stops will be the day she dies, but this one was valid) that there was water gushing from partway down our yard into hers. So we just called the Council (because the sewer and drainage are there responsibility - one of the things we pay rates for) and they had someone out that afternoon I think it was. Turned out there were issues further up the line that were contributing to our issue, so they spent a number of days in a number of neighbourhood yards until all was fixed. No suing needed, just part of the service.

Hey, pretty face! :) We make a Finn match. (I was going to type fine match but went for the pun instead.)

Yes, we both pay for sewer and drainage. He said he's been trying to get something done about it for 5 years and hasn't been taken seriously. So he hopes that me standing as witness with him will help his case. I get that.

This isn't sewage specifically, but it does have to do with drainage. I can see the problem as a matter of physics. I've also got other soft spots in my yard I know about. Maybe it was his matter of approach that put me off.

"This is my new to me home! I don't want problems!" *head in sand*

I am sure for stuff that the city handles that they would take care of it. Just not sure that this is. (Sorry to be so disjointed!)

Why thanks, yes we do indeed ... punny or otherwise.

Yes, it does sounds a slightly grey area, and I can appreciate the neighbour's frustration. Hopefully it doesn't lead to too much drama so you and the beebs can just enjoy the new house!
