I JUST saw that quote today as I was reading the mag at lunch. I laughed out loud. What a great quote.

How come the orchestra doesn't show up for rehearsals?

I may have written that goofy. I meant the other people of the percussion section didn't show up. I'm wondering if thepercussion is me, NG, and Scott (whenever he actually comes). There is a timpanist who doesn't show up, too, and that is irritating to no end. I feel if he's not there to slog it out, then he shouldn't play with us at concerts. (He has another ensemble that rehearses at the same time, so he goes to those rehearsals instead.) But that's my feeling on things. The conductor may think differently.

And yeah... great JPJ quote. :D Was a good issue. I only thumbed through it last night, but lots of good articles. I'm considering getting a subscription since that price was way cheaper than newsstand price.

yeah i must have read it wrong or something. It sounded like only TWO people showed up out of the entire orchestra! hah
