oh, that was beautiful.

The memories of this place were the last truly happy ones he had, unshadowed by betrayal and abandonment. It didn't quite seem right for him to be here now, old and bitter as he was.

oh that was lovely! a little jap-picking.. arigatou has a silent u on the end... common english mistake.... as for the rest of your japanese, i think it's fine... don't know much, but that just caught my attention...

As my dear Aibhinn's wee Japanese language and culture helper, I must point out that silent "u's" are usually at the discretion of one's preference to romaji. As I do not care to overuse vowels in my romanization, I did not ask Aibhinn to change her "arigato" into "arigatou." Much like how some romanize "otousan" into "otoosan." Simply a preference.

Just pointing out that, well, I wouldn't say it is a mistake. I don't want Aibhinn to think she committed an error when she really didn't. :) Of course, she's welcome to make the change if she so chooses.
