The Big Catch-Up Post of Rassilon

(Not really, but I couldn't think of any wittier subject line... which is pretty pathetic, really.)

So there's a lot to catch up on! I've been living The High Life lately--or, well, I did for a week, at least. I was on The Love Boat. (Not really. I was on the Golden Princess, though, which *is* a Princess cruise ship. To Alaska!)

The cruise to Alaska. Pictures to come later. )

Good to hear from you; yeah, when you put the weight loss into real-item terms, it's pretty impressive, isn't it? When I'd lost the 20 lbs over the last year, I was hefting around the chainmail shirt one day (which also weighs about 20 lbs), and realized *that's how much* extraneous weight I'd been carrying around all the time.

Really a "whoa!" moment. They should incorporate something like that into weight loss programs as a motivator.

ETA: glad you didn't run into one of the kamikaze whales that was in the news lately -- then again, even a humpback wouldn't have much chance against a cruise ship! ;)

Wow, it sounds amazing! My best friend from school is getting married in AK this summer (about an hour from Anchorage) so I'm heading out there in August. Unfortunately I don't think I'll manage much other touring, but she is there permanently, so I'm sure I'll go back. My parents are cruising from Vancouver to Seward though, and it sounds like they'll have a great time.
