Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more!

I'm doing this again, because I'm not going to give up on myself, damn it. I'm tracking my calories and starting to work out again. In fact, I even moved my treadmill (yes, I have one; I've had one for about fifteen years and it's hardly been used for the past seven) from the spare room, where I never see it, into my bedroom. It's old and creaky ( ( Read more... )

if you're ever interested in looking at weight loss in a different way say not counting points or things where you have to do a lot of things like that and just looking at it from a nutritional/supplemental/ whole body type let me know. In my experience having to do "Things" like counting points, weighing food, etc can a lot of times lead people off the track. Looking at why you eat what you do and how and how things affect you after you eat them etc can make a big difference, like carbs and sugars and fats. so, let me know, i can maybe help lead you down a different path. :) hugs!

one more thing, fyi, my hubby lost 100 pounds on the treadmill also, it's a good thing to use, and honestly he only went at about 1.0 speed but doing that consistantly he lost weight and has kept it off, has lost over 120 lbs now but changing what he ate, when, and how much also.
hugs again

Oh, treadmills. I am just not a runner. I consider myself to be in fairly good shape, and I can run for a while if I'm playing a sport, but I cannot just get on a treadmill and run. I tend to want to die after about three minutes. I hope you keep us updated on your running; maybe it will inspire me to get back on that horse.

I'm definitely sending good thoughts your way!

It doesn't matter how many times you keep posting it. Weight loss and good health are lifelong challenges and so if you have to look at every day as a new start, that's fine. Much better than falling off the wagon and not getting back on.

Hubby and I are going to start going to the gym at least three times a week together. Once he's over the flu that I so generously gave him, that is. And I'm researching health-conscious recipes and have totally stopped the diet soda, sticking only to water and Crystal Light. Maybe in time he'll adopt that habit as well. :D

Best advice I got - don't look long term in terms of weight loss. Don't think you have to lose the Big Number. Concentrate on your health, and if you must fixate on a number, make it a small one.
