I haven't posted my Halloween pictures of me yet, so you have missed nothing important.

I haven't seen Chinatown but I know some of the big scenes that go with it; I think knowing random film references comes from watching as much Simpsons as I do. But since you gave it such a glowing recommendation, I'll have to add it to my netflix queue. I've never heard of Hard Times; let me know what it's like!

And this is my last "normal" five-day week until after Thanksgiving (which is on the 26th this year)? Woohoo! :)

Do you have a bunch of teacher work days? I know that VA schools have tomorrow and Tuesday off for workdays/elections (so of course tomorrow, hundreds of college students will be descending on campus for a tour).

Do you have a bunch of teacher work days?

Not exactly. Five-day week this week, then Veterans Day the following Wednesday (which means going out to the cemetery, etc.), then a "late arrival" day the Wednesday after that--meetings in the morning, kids come 2 hours late--then it's Thanksgiving week. :) And then only 3 weeks until Christmas break! This autumn is speeding by, I swear.

Ooh, that's nice! I miss having half-days like that. It was always such a good break, and I'm sure it's an even better one for teachers.

This autumn is speeding by, I swear.

I know! I can't believe I've already registered for next semester's classes and that it's November 1. Where does the time go? And why are so many research papers due in November?

wow, i can't believe there's anyone who hasn't seen Chinatown - I don't mean that in a WTF sense, it's just that I was in jr high school when it came out and I've probably seen it 15 times. Every couple of years or so.

It is a truly spectacular film in all respects. Writing, acting, cinematography. the works.

Enjoy the class... it seem like it would be something I'd enjoy too but I'm too lazy. We have a huge film program here, but I just can't quite get myself to take classes.

I've never seen it either! I'll have to put it on my list of things to watch someday.

I've been wanting to do this screenwriting thing for years, literally, so when I found the classes were available--and something I can afford, if I'm really really careful with my money--well, there was no question; I just HAD to do it. :)

I think Chinatown is going on my Christmas list.

I remember hearing a lot about Chinatown, but have never seen it either. Well, one of these days.

Glad the class is going well! :)
