It’s hard to find a piece of mind whenever he is around. The jittery feeling in my stomach, the fast movement of my beating heart, it’s all unstoppable. These feelings and these sudden moments it may all be new to me but. The beauty within these is that I can feel him. I can see him, hold him, touch him, and feel his hands… make him mine, even if it’s all a secret… even if it’s all hidden in the recesses of my mind.
“Inoo-chan,” I took hold of his hands. He was somewhat trembling, trying to hide his fears. I know he is hurt. I know that he wants to cry. But being him, being Kei Inoo, he couldn’t show that lonely side of him. He can’t show anyone, especially the seven, that he still needs someone. That, that little Kei still needs a helping hand, that that little Kei still needs to be captured in a warm embrace, a tight hug.
He needs to hide it all because he believes that he is older. He is wiser. He is strong… even though... he is not.
“Kei,” I repeated myself as he tries to avoid looking at me. He is composing himself and somehow that made me act on impulse, made me pull him into a tight embrace. “Cry all you want.” I whispered to his ears as I held him tighter and envelop him within my protective arms.
In all my life, I have never felt this way. But with him, with Inoo, I desperately want to hold him, protect him from this cruel world. He is too precious to me even if I can’t show it. He is my one and only even if I push him away. I love him dearly.
He is my wings - my butterfly.
“Kou, what’s happening to you? I am alright,” his bitter laugh, and that made me hold him much firmer, trying to reach him somehow… trying to make him understand that I am here with him, that I am still here.
“Lean on me,” I whispered lovingly to him.
And that, that simple sentence made all of his defenses crumble. He is ready to soar and spread his wings to me. Finally, he has let me in. And now, I’ll make sure I’ll keep him safe here in my arms as long as he needs me.
“… It hurts…” He whimpered into my arms as he clung into my clothes as if his life defended on it, “I love him so much,” He let out a sob.
“I know.” I rubbed his back to ease the pain, to let him just feel free from all the misery he is feeling inside.
“How?” he asked me with those tear-streaked eyes before I gave him my ‘Yabu Kota’ smile as I leaned in and captured his lips.
“Simply because… I love you.”
I whispered into his ears and just stared into those pretty eyes.
I never needed a response from him. I never asked. But when he looked at me with tears in his eyes. My smile could only go brighter as he gave me a soft peck on the lips and smiled - that beautiful smile.
