I never really see BDSM/kink as sexual activity. It is more like 'playtime' - escapism from accepted roles.

Obviously many participants orgasm when stimulated. They say that voyeurism is a kinky practice, but I always just thought it was entertaining curiosity.

When I walk by a scene, its like walking by a cage at the zoo and observing something being done that is not typical for the species. There is curiosity and amusement, but certainly no titillation.

"She was begging me to smack her in the face." is such a thin razor between acceptance and ire, that I tend to lose respect for any man or woman who puts a partner in an [otherwise] demeaning position, even in privacy.

I am not saying I am wrong or right. It just is what it is.
