Contest Announcement!!!
Come one! Come all to a series of "firsts".
ahun_pair is happy to host the first ever Hatsukoi competition.
Hatsukoi translates as "first love" or "puppy love". This competition is about first times, first anythings that you want to portray. Let your imaginations run wild with the possibilities of firsts. The contest, itself, will be separated into two segments (visual and written) to be judged by a pannel of judges including guu_dammit and myself, among others who will remain anonymous.
For Everyone:
~Entries should in some way reflect the theme of the contest, but it's a very general theme, so be interpretive and innovative.
~Entries MUST be original. Plagarism, copying, etc. will result in immediate disqualification, to be followed immediately by an old-fashioned stoning.
~All entries must be new and written, drawn, designed, etc. for this contest. Once they are entered here, you may feel free to post them at your discretion.
~All entries must be mailed as attachments (or made available as downloads or links if they are too large) to me at she_who_writes@yahoo.com, as well as posted to the community with the subject line "Hatsukoi Entry".
~You may enter either portion of the contest or both as many times as you'd like. The more entries the better.
~Entries must be in by February 28, 2007 by midnight PST. That gives you a little over 4 months to prepare something. You know you want to!
~If you need an extension due to extenuating circumstances, email me (see email addy above) and explain your situation. Please type "Contest extension request" in the subject line, so I know who the email is from and don't delete it.
For Fiction Writers:
~All fics must be at least 800 words in length minimum. There is no maximun length, but your entry must be complete. If it is multi-chapter, please don't post until all of the chapters are written and send me your entire fic as a zip file.
~Fics will be judged on technicality/originality and plot/characterization/use of theme/afterglow. Please proof-read, and I strongly recommend having your fiction edited or beta-read. Other people can catch the mistakes that you miss.
~There are no restrictions on style/format. The sky's the limit. If you write a songfic, though, please do not include the lyrics in your word count.
~Prizes- the first place fic will receive a banner made by bobbissimo and artwork on demand by guu_dammit. Her artwork can be seen at her deviantart account and her livejournal.

~Anything visual counts. That includes, but isn't necessarily limited to fanart, comics, wallpaper/layouts, music videos, banners, and icons. Be aware, however that if you're making wallpapers you have to enter 2, banners 4, or icons 10, each with variations on the theme. If you have questions about this rule or about other possible entry media, please comment to this entry or email me your question with the subject line "Contest entry question".
~Visual Entries will be judged on cleanliness/originality/style/use of theme/afterglow. Don't stress, you've got months to work on these.
~If you are photoshopping/photomanipping anything, credit your source!!! If you capped/scanned the images yourself, say so. Otherwise provide a credit and a link to the webpage or journal from which you took the image. Do not use images that are not up for grabs! We will call you on this and it could result in your disqualification. If you need links to downloads or caps, comment below.
