i loved literally everything about it. it was dark and real and beautiful and heartbreaking and just everything that the tate/violet pairing is. your spin on the canon plot was refreshing and totally believable. i love that he let her die, because we all know he's not as valiant as we like to pretend. he's selfish and you really showcased that with this fic, how he coveted her and will never let her go now that he's got her.
I LOVEE that you used that song! so perfect! and it was such a fantastic way to end the fic, with that little pinch of hope that they'll be alright. but that things are different. that they can never go back to the way things were.
my heart hurts.
(also, goddaaaamn that smut was prettypretty. and hot. SO HOT)

As others have said, I'm glad you made sure Tate's plans still got all twisted even without the Vivien/rubberman story line, because it's Tate and he just can't catch a break.
I don't even know where to BEGIN with the smut, I mean, holy hell, that was insanely good like I was a blushing squirmy mess by the end! It was just so convincing and really emotive and passionate, which is something that CAN get lost with smut scenes.
But seriously, this fic was perfection from start to finish, and I love that last line 'It's only a matter of time.', because if there is one thing this fandom relies on it's HOPE for the two of them.

ugh.
this was wonderful.
No matter how you spin it, Tate and Violet can't have a happy ending.
But this made me feel like no matter how you spin it, they can't avoid getting back together.
