I'm sitting in an internet cafe in Tunis. It's our last day here, and we've done almost everything in my guide book, so our only plans for this afternoon are this, getting tea (mmm, mint tea is so yummy) and buying books and/or cds. As for French, everyone in the streets speaks Arabic, but everyone we ran into was able to speak French, with only one exception. When we went to buy tickets for the metro, we went to the wrong place (because it was also the only place we went where the signs weren't bilingual), and the guy didn't speak French, so the man behind me in line had to interpret. Other than that, no linguistic problems. Something funny, though, is that when we didn't respond to the men in the streets, they would try saying hello in English, Spanish, German, or Italian, thinking that we hadn't understood them...
