Season's Beatings

It’s funny how a job will affect your perspective on life. Before I started working in call centers, I thought of them as convenient targets for juvenile prank phone calls. During my Elementary and Middle School days I would call random 1-800 numbers and annoy the customer service representatives. If the cereal I was eating had a customer service ( Read more... )

i agree that people are jack asses and that they dish way too much punishment on the lower tier employees. i work for the campus cafeteria and i have to deal with a world of "repressed" "tortured" white, suburban, freshmen who can't operate a sign and don't understand the concept of a line... as in standing in one for two minutes. i never thought i would hate my contemporaries as much as this, but then i realize that many are five years, or more, younger than me and that they'll never be my contemporaries. also, you said "loin's share" in your last paragraph instead of "lion's share." if that was unintentional then don't edit it out. it's too perfect.

It was a typo, but it is perfect, it reminds me of the King James Bible.

you bastard! how dare you steal all those expensive toddler-sized sweaters to line your stinking bile-infested nest so you can hibernate another couple years and come out and eat the livers of unsuspecting innocents!

I really enjoyed this entry. I can feel the pain. I work at Disneyworld! The Happiest Mother Fucking Place on Earth. If its not perfect, its my fault.

I know how you feel even though I don't sell clothes. People are pissy about food too.

Guest: "Give me more! I'm paying ten bucks for this!!!"
Cast Member: "I'm sorry Sir, those are the portion sizes."
Guest: "WELL!!! I KNOW YOU COULD GIVE ME MORE!!!"
Cast Member: "Okay, Happy Holidays. Heres a little extra."

I risk my job everyday by giving people extra food so that they'll go away and stop yelling at me. I just don't care that much!!! I agree that the prices are expensive but it was their own dumbass fault coming to Disney expecting a discount meal.

I guess we're both enjoying the holidays in our own special ways.

Merry Christmas to you.

It really is ridiculous to spend a load of cash on a sweater set or a trip to a theme park and grovel for the last red cent on some discount that doesn't even exist.
My work is pretty tolerant of cutting people slack, just as long as you don't do it everytime. I can't imagine what it is like to work for Disney. I heard they keep a pretty tight leash on their employees.
