1. I suppose it's small consolation, but it makes me very happy that he and Paddy are together so often. &hearts

2. *sigh* I just thought they needed more from him. Like, it's usually great that he sits back and just cleans things up and calms them down, but in a game like that, someone has to wake the team up, you know? And from the little I know about them, it seems like only Chivu and Lobont have the personalities to do that; since Lobont is stuck back in the goal, it had to be Chivu, and I don't think he stepped up, or brought any urgency to the team. (Ajax Chivu totally would have, I wonder where that's gone, and if he thinks it's good that he's so much calmer now.)

1. That's true - they both clearly have awesome taste in friends.

2. *nod* I see what you mean. Not all captains can do that, though, and even the ones who are primarily motivators instead of organisers (like Puyol, for example) can't do it all the time. (I suspect Chivu sees calming down as a step towards maturity. :D)

LOL I love how every still talks to Lilian, even when we can hardly see him. I HOPE PADDY WOULD GET THE SAME ATTENTION IN PICTURES OF LILIAN!

*sighs* The pictures don't make it look any less ineffective, do they? Did you see Chivu looking on the bright side, though; saying now he can focus on his wedding? I might have 'aww'-ed a bit.

Oh god. Yes, I'm sure he's been lamenting the Euros terribly because he can't pick out flowers properly ... *sigh* He also needs to have his shoulder fixed, I hope he can schedule that into his summer, around all the honeymooning!

(I know leaving Paddy off that list was just and oversight)(Well, that would be a sure sign he's TOTALLY LOST HIS MIND. That's like Pilou saying he's going to keep his cornrows until he does the same -- they want to play, but surely they're not THAT stupid? Plus, that would give future coaches a reason to leave him out, just to see how long he actually keeps it.)

I hope there was at least a lot of drinking, or something. I bet Lobont and Chivu and a bunch of the others drank a lot, while Mutu stewed by himself somewhere ....

(I'm not sure I concur with that sort of superstition, it doesn't make sense! I mean, I get wearing the same shorts every match, or a lucky necklace, or whatever, but doing something UNTIL something you want happens? That's crazy, is what that is! *grin*)(I wonder if they even notice anymore @ Fiorentina. I mean, he's turned up with frosted hair, cornrows, and wolverine whiskers. I bet they'd flip out if he turned up for camp with normal hair and having shaved -- they'd all just fall out!)

I wonder if he does that. I mean, he avoided the Viola CL party AND the Romania qualification party, which seems like maybe he's uncomfortable with that atmosphere, b/c of his past problems (yes, I realize I'm totally just making things up here). Though drinking heavily to drown one's sorrows IS very different from partying ...
