Easter

We dyed Easter eggs with onion skins, following the directions I found here. I don't use a lot of onions, so we didn't have a whole bunch of skins, but I still like the way they turned out. And so much better for the kids!

That's how we did them when I was an au pair in Switzerland. If you're interested in seeing them, I have pictures.

Your eggs turned out lovely! I was lamenting the fact that I didn't get my act together to do that this year. Next year, I think I shall have an egg-dying party.

Wow, yours turned out a lot better! lol I don't even eat onions, but I went and bought a few just for this experiment. Next time, we'll collect them far longer in advance, and hopefully have better color. It was so much fun though! We may try this more often than just Easter. Making a party of it is fun! My sister Lyz came over, and that's pretty much just what we did.

Thank you to both! Looking at the pics, I can tell how much they've grown - it's been far too long since I did a picture post!

Aww, I love the dog-hug picture!

I always want to try this with eggs, but have not had a kitchen/dining room/table to dye eggs these past 2 seasons. faetal always does it, and I'm jealous. Perhaps next year. :-)

Thanks! Actually, I don't have a table or kitchen space either. I just used the little slip of counter space in front of my sink.

Thank you! The girls definitely get that from their daddy. ;)

Really? Ha ha, thanks! I always thought she didn't really look like either of us. She's all preening and pleased at the thought. That's kind of cute.
