This Post Is Important to Me: Part 2

Sep 17, 2007 14:18

I originally shared my sacred with you here, and I would like to do that again. I ask that you please bear with me and read despite any resistance you might have to the topic of faith. I know many peoples' eyes glaze over when they see the words "prayer" or "church", and I know I have seen many a post (and I'm guilty of saying this myself at times ( Read more... )

This post, and the one you reference, will be added to my personal memories.

Thank you.

I just had a very deeply spiritual weekend, coming to many happy places in my life, then had a close family member pull some shenanigans and I began to have questions once again.

You are an excellent writer, and I send you love, joy and happiness on this day.

*love*

Thank you so much! I'm sorry about the shenanigans, but I hope you can capture that deeply happy feeling gain. It ebbs and it flows, but it never leaves entirely. :)

I'm honored that you think so, and I will happily shower you back with love!

:)

Thank you for the return love! :) In the Universe there is no greater joy than sharing joy, love and happiness.

The family thing will pass -- mostly having to do with wishing my mom would understand my path (much like what you are talking about ... and I've been considering Unity for some time, as well), me and how we live our life.

Tell me about the ebb and flow! *giggle*

Right now I'm reading "Conversations with God," and find that anytime I have a question, I will find a passage in the book that answers it.

But now I'm rambling... *grin*

Be blessed and follow your bliss.

Keep writing -- your words are medicine for the soul. :)

You're too good to me! *has finally found ecstatic bliss*

I'm sorry things are rough with your mom. It's interesting that you've been considering Unity, so let me know what you think if you try it out. They differ quite a bit depending on the preacher, I believe, but it's always great if you can find one nearby. :)

I read Conversations with God right after finishing the Celestine Prophecy, and both really resonated with me. I never read any of the sequels to Conversations with God, but I've been thinking of revisiting those.

I'm glad to have clarified some things, and I hope you feel free to ask if you ever have any questions about anything I put out there. :)

Thank you!

Thank you for sharing! What a lovely faith! I now have another faith I can recommend to friends who are looking. :)
(Unitarian Universalism suits me a bit better, I think, as I'm just not that Christian, but I know/have known people Unity might be perfect for. :)

It's so hard to be spiritual with little ones taking up all one's time! I'm really struggling with that right now.

I've never been to a Unitarian service, but I want to soon. I've heard good things about it.

It is hard, but I'm trying to get back into it in large part to be a good role model for the girls. Plus, the chaplaincy program stresses self care, saying you can't care for others if you yourself feel depleted. I'm trying to remember that.

[You know I couldn't resist].

Seriously, thank you for taking the time to make this entry. It was informative and opened my eyes a bit. I'm a bit clueless on some topics, religion being one of them. Thank you. :)

Well, I think it's a natural reaction for some people. And I'll admit that I was pretty surprised that I didn't get any comments to my World Day of Prayer post, which focused on world peace and transcends religion. It occurred to me that I wasn't fully representing my personal path, and I hope I can do that without being 'preachy' and still maintain everyone's interest. :)

Anyways, I'm glad it was informative! And I hope to do similar explorations of other faiths. I have Visiting 5 other churches, I think, on my 101 list and I'd also like to make that a part of my personal action plan. I think all paths are rooted in the same basic Truth anyway.
