Day 10, Tuesday, last day.
Our last day started with our final yummy breakfast at the hotel, lecture about how to bring our excitement home and not blow it by Lori Palatnik. Then we had to check out and had about 3 hours of free time to shop and do whatever we wanted to do. We walked to the Shuk-market and got some more presents. The day was absolutely beautiful! Time went by very quickly as we had to get to the hotel where we got on our buses and went to the
Rachel’s tomb. It is located by Bethlehem.
It was very crowded there. We were given a prayer that is appropriate for that place. The surroundings looked like it was a prison with high walls and super security.
After that we went to the final dinner banquet where all groups said final speeches, appreciations, exchanged gifts with city leaders and everyone who made our trip possible and so well organized. At this point I was so tired, my feet were sore and I knew that I had to hold on until we get on the plane in about 4 hours. I was exhausted and ready to go home to see my family!
We had an interesting airport experience as Israeli security like to make it, asking us weird questions about our lives. I decided to practice my Hebrew with them and it was a mistake, after the long conversation, they let us check in without even searching our suitcases in the big security machine.
The flight back home was not full and I got a really nice seat by the window with no one seating next to me. My eyes were closing and I slept on and off. I watched two movies and wrote in my journal. Time flew by pretty fast for me. The flight was unusually smooth; I didn’t feel even once getting turbulence. I guess all of the prayers from all of those religious Jews on the plane kept us safe and easy going.
My Israel adventures were over!
However, we started our USA adventures going from JFK to LaGuardia airport and then home.
I did not describe every detail of the trip but only things that stood out for me. So, if you have an opportunity, take advantage of the Aish and
JWRP Israel trips, bring your friends with!
It is a week since I got back to MN. Life is different here but good! The weather is surprisingly sunny in MN today, tomorrow we are going to get some snow.
