A sad goodbye

With the Russians now owning Livejournal, and their new anti-LGBT ToS in place (among other restrictions), I doubt I’ll be posting here much anymore, if at all. I’m not going to delete my journal because it will always be an archive for me. I have a very old Dreamwidth page that I may start up again. I started the import process to transfer ( Read more... )

I'm not all that concerned about the TOS changes for my journal, there's not much LGBT content there, but I do have a dreamwidth acct, it's also ailurophile6. I imported my lj last night, just in case.

But I paid for a permanent lj and I have a lot of storage here, so I'm not going anywhere yet.

I found you over at DW! Yay!

Oh yeah, if you’ve got a permanent account it makes sense that you’d stay. I have a paid account that I’m going to let go down to a free one.

I hate to leave LJ but I talk too much about my LGBT writing and other slashy fandom stuff to take the chance of the Russians deleting my journal entirely. I want to keep it as an archive.

Yay! I’m glad we’re connected over at DW now. I don’t want to lose contact with my friends because of the Russian’s stupidity.

I opened a DW account quite some time ago because I could post stories there in one part that had to be split into two or more on LJ (though I mostly post stories to AO3). bluewolf458 there too.

I'll stay on LJ as well for the time being - most of my posts here mostly concern health or weather :-) But there's no way I'll move to facebook, even though I know a lot of people who are on it. I don't trust it at all. Tumblr has been mentioned a few times as an alternative to LJ, but I can't make sense of Tumblr.

I agree that FB isn’t the place for true conversations. I had to open up an account there for my author stuff. That’s where my lifeblood is for my writing. So that’s why I wanted to at least move to DW, for those types of deeper interactions with my friends. And Tumblr? Oh heck no. My eyes glazed over the first time I went there and I never went back! LOL!

As I said in my post, I've been crossposting since DW opened its doors, so everything that's on my LJ is on my DW too. I'll keep crossposting for a while because I don't really have anything on my blog that should bother our overlords, but if they want to come and delete it, be my guest. Like I said, it's all mirrored on DW anyway.

I'll follow you on facebook - I go by my real name there, Pamela Buickel. I don't post anything fannish to FB, though, because family is there. But I do read and am happy to participate.

I’m glad you found me on Facebook! I’d hate to lose touch with all the wonderful friends I’ve made here.

I might crosspost my non-LGBT entries over here still, so as to not lose contact with those folks not on DW or FB.

Wow... I totally missed something! Had no clue they were bought out and are now anti-LGBT. I don't post here much, mainly just read what the few others I follow post. I have a lifetime LJ so I'll still hang on it but if I didn't, I'd not renew it for sure :-(

Yeah, look closely at the ToS we were all forced to sign. Basically if everything you post isn’t appropriate for a child in Russia you’re in violation. Seriously??
