Anecdotes from the SPN Season 5 Companion book

About a week ago I was at my comic book store, and to my surprise they had the Supernatural Season 5 Companion book. Amazon lists this as not coming out until November 2nd, so this was quite a find!

I started reading it tonight and there were some neat things in there I thought I'd share:

Lights, Camera, Laughter

Stunt coordinator Lou Bollo gave us a glimpse of Jared and Jensen's antics on the Supernatural set when the cameras aren't rolling. "They're so playful," he says. "The best time to watch them play around is during a rehearsal. They've been told by the director what he'd like to see, and instead they come out and give the funniest version of that scene you've ever seen. Like, if it's just jumping over a fence and going inside a window, they'll look like the clumsiest guys on the face of the Earth, trying to scramble up the fence, falling backward, and trying to help each other up. They'll look like a couple of complete goofs. The director will just go, "Oh, God..." but everybody gets a good laugh. Then when the cameras roll, it's all perfect. It's so funny."

Did you know...?

"When I did Abandon All Hope, Phil Sgriccia presented me with a 'kick it in the ass' pin," shares Mark Sheppard. "It's wonderful - it has "K.I.I.T.A.' with a donkey on it. I have it on my Battlestar Galactica jacket, which is a fun place to keep it."

Did you know...?

Misha Collins reports that during the filming of Abandon All  Hope, executive producer Phil Sgriccia locked him in his trailer. "I was banging on the door," says Collins. "I can't get out! I'm stuck in my trailer! What if there's a fire?" They were all outside laughing."

I love reading all this behind the scenes stuff! It's what I love most about all the Companion books. I've still got half the book to read, so if I come across any more really good tidbits I'll pass them on. :-)
