Graeaenet
I’m getting used to life here in the new place. I’ve been buying bits of hardware, putting things together, discovering that I need yet another size of screw or different kind of lightbulb dammit, etc. ladymondegreen and I cleared off and reassembled the Neutronium Sofabed today, so we’ve actually got somewhere to sit in the livingroom. It’s coming clear how the room is going to be arranged, too. I think it’s going to be getting one of the old Ikea Sten shelving units from the Brooklyn apartment, with the other going in the kitchen.
The broadband is great, but we need an Ethernet hub. Right now we’re sharing one cable, which I’ve taken to calling “the eye and tooth”. I’ve got a desk-and-shelving-unit set up for all my computer stuff, but I’m not net-capable up there, and won’t be till we either run a cable up the stairs or set up a wireless hub.
As I type this our downstairs neighbors are having a party. I can hear and feel the music vibrating up through the floor here in the dining room. I expect it won’t make it up to my bedroom, but my roommates can’t be happy about it.
