I heard about this on the radio. I agree - media hype and industry pressure to be thin is horrible. However, even the harshest government cannot regulate freewill. I have been both fat and thin, and each was a result of my choices and behavior. It was that Brazilian model's choice to be in the fashion industry, and her choices that at least *began* her on the road to anorexia. No law can create self-responsiblity and perspective.

I hear you...but choices are often conditioned by social formation...especially in the case of children who's brains do not yet functions in transcendent ways. It takes a long time to change these perceptions. Some (who I disagree with) would say that you never change the formation that happens as a child. Anyway, I less concerned with government making choices for people as I am at letting an amoral culture condition things which seem to not have moral import (the idea of what makes a woman/man beautiful) but actually do.
