It used to be, people in Seattle didn't carry umbrellas, and often didn't go in for waterproof gear so much as something heavy enough to protect them from the constant drizzle. Yes, lots. Mostly in Seattle we're exaggerating a little when we say it only drizzled. But thunder and lightning, no lie, happened maybe once a year, if that.
