Aww - that's lovely. Just what I needed to read tonight. I like how they acknowledge that there're things to be worked out, but they are willing to do that!

AWWW... that was lovely! Love how they're there for each other even when things aren't so happy. And, Jim's musing about how he wanted a real relationship with Bones was wonderful!

And, yeah, I can just imagine Jim'd be easily slayed by Joanna McCoy if she looked and acted like her dad.

Thank you so much for your kind feedback. Kirk & McCoy are definitely two of my favorites because they seem like they'd be interesting to play with in both good times and bad. I'm glad this worked for you :D And you guys are awesome for putting this together!

I don't have the words to tell you how utterly perfect that was. They way you draw their lonliness in the lead up to Christmas was heart-breaking and Jim's angst was just the right amount of regret without tipping over into OC. Loved it!
Apart from The Kiss, this was my favourite part:

You talk about me with your daughter. A lot. Face it, Bones. You'd miss me if I wasn't around."

"No, I'd get a lot more work done."

"You'd be lonely and bored, admit it."

"It would be so peaceful I'd hardly notice you were gone at all."

Thank you for contributing to this comm!
