Chapter 3

The man was rough with him as he single handed threw him on the hard floor. His sniffles of cries muffled behind the tape.

Now the man removed his mask and his face was visible. But not to the little boy on the floor with his eyes blindfolded.

This dangerous man picked up a bat from the floor and aimed. His hands were shaking now and his determination faltered.

Detective Yoon Sei Yoon sat alone at one side of the table. In front of him was the victim, along with his family and the person who had found him.

“Should we start? Can you please tell me what had happened Kim Jaejoong?”

Jaejoong fidgeted uncomfortably in his seat,“I woke up…”

He repeated the same thing he told everyone, the truth though somehow his mom still doubted his testimony and Yunho’s innocence. When Jaejoong finished his account, Detective Yoon stopped the tape recorder. He then asked for them to stay outside and wait to be interrogated individually.

By the time it was Yunho’s turn he had almost fallen asleep. The others had been anxious but he only felt lightheaded as if nothing had really happened.
Detective Yoon looked through the papers before shifting his gaze towards Yunho.

“Jung Yunho?”

“What were you doing before you heard the screams for help?”

“Well I was drinking with a friend in her café.”

“How long did it take you to find Kim Jaejoong? Also please describe the incident once again but from your perspective.”

Yunho did as he was told and recap everything which had happened that night. The events matched with the testimony Detective Yoon had gotten from Ea Teng. After so many years working in this line Detective Yoon has come to trust his feelings, the special weapon he called sixth sense.

He knew this was no regular case and that there was something which was not being said. He called everyone in again and looked at each of them, daring them to think or to twitch even the slightest. Then Junsu who was sitting in the corner next to Yoochun and Mrs. Kim spoke

“Detective, there is something my brother and I haven’t told you. We believe it’s our old chemistry teacher, Chun Hee.”

“What makes you think so?”

Mrs. Kim rested her hand on Junsu’s and gave it a squeeze trying to signal him not to say anything more. This did not went unnoticed by Detective Yoon who forced a smile, “Mrs. Kim, if you do not share all information with us then we wouldn’t be able to efficiently solve this case.”

Jaejoong was the one who then spoke up, “Chun Hee was a teacher at our school but he got fired last year.” He stopped talking after, not having the courage to continue.

“It was because of an assault…against my son Kim Jaejoong,” Mrs Kim piped up.

Now that the beans were finally spilled, Junsu proceeded to tell Detective Yoon about everything from the strange messages to the phone calls and threats they had received.

“You should have told us this earlier. We can immediately look into it.”

Finally when the interrogation was over Jaejoong took Junsu’s hand and together they walked back to the car. He didn’t have the strength to deal with his parents or Yunho. Not even Yoochun with his adorableness and sensibility could almost always reached Jaejoong whenever he looked into his eyes.

Everything was now too overwhelming for Jaejoong and he needed some time for himself. He knew if Junsu was with him then everything will be quiet and tranquil.

“Jaejoong and Junsu, if something like that ever happen again you have to tell me,” Mrs. Kim told her sons before driving away from the police station. She felt like a weight has been lifted and she could finally breathe again.

____________

Barbieface: How should we play with the teachers this year?

Barefoot: I hate Mr. Song. He always scolds me like he has something against me! I swear that no one else get treated like I do.

Shaky: I saw him in his class today. All the students were lined outside the classroom and he had a stick in his hand.

Watermelon: Just because he’s not getting any, he doesn’t need to take it out on us.

Barefoot: That was good watermelon.

Birdie: Hello everyone. Did you hear about the accident from last term?

Shaky: Yeah, from what I heard it was a bunch of teachers who went to inspect the new building and someone cut off the elevator…

Shaky: Hahaha, I think three people died too.

Barbieface: Someone must have really hated Principal Kim. She’s the one who arranged for them to go that day.

Masquerade: Heard she was nearly sacked but then allowed to stay because of her past achievements in Epik High over the last ten years.

Demonlord: Don’t you people think that the Kim twins should be punished?

Barbieface: Lol, they are annoying and stupid. Who’d want to be friends with them.

Demonlord: They should be raped hundreds of times and then strangled to death.

Shaky: Isn’t that a bit too much?

Masquerade: I hate them. Seriously big brother Kim Jaejoong thinks he’s the best at everything while little brother Kim Junsu is a phony and is like a girl in disguise.

Watermelon: It would be interesting if one of them got raped from behind xD

Demonlord: Only rape is not good enough. They should be tortured in the most humiliating way and then killed.

Barbieface: I agree with demonlord.

Shaky: Then should we kill them? Since lately there is nothing much more fun to do.

Barbieface: Didn’t Kim Jaejoong nearly get raped last year by Mr. Chun?

Masquerade: Totally deserved it!

________

Summer has come to an end in the last days of September. Junsu and Jaejoong were finishing their breakfast before taking their school bags. Mrs. Kim looked at her two handsome and, yet beautiful sons. Being beautiful meant trouble, endless trouble for her sons in the future.

It made her think of Chun Hee, the bastard who had dared to wound her son’s pride and manliness. Jaejoong was strong and prideful so what Chun Hee did caused him more mental harm rather than physical harm.

“Mom, who’s driving us to school today? You or Dad?”

“I’ll drive you.”

When Jaejoong and Junsu arrived in school they separated and went to their respective classes. Even though they were brothers most of the kids in school did not know Junsu’s face that well. He was not as outstanding or as cheerful as his brother so everyone only assumed he had the same face as Jaejoong.

Junsu took his seat near the back of the class. He thought no one would come over and talk to him. However at that moment his best friend, Ryeowook threw himself at him and gave him a bear hug. Junsu being playful pretended to be suffocated to death.

“How was your summer?” Junsu asked after they have both settled down.

“The best summer ever. I spent every day with Yehsung! We went to the movie, walked in the park. He even took me to the Zoo! You can’t imagine how much fun it was!” Ryeowook almost jumped excitedly as he mentioned all this to Junsu. His happiness was unmistakable and Junsu was happy for his friend too.

“Did you meet anyone at your grandma’s place?”

In an instant the smile disappeared from the corner of Junsu’s mouth and he looked all gloomy and sad, “Something awful happened to Jaejoong.”

He was stopped from saying anything further as the classroom door slid open and their homeroom teacher, Shin Yoo Kyung entered. Following right behind her was a tall figure.

“Kids, today we have a new student with us. His name is Shim Changmin. Go ahead and introduce yourself.”

Changmin’s face was as red as tomato and he didn’t even dare to look up. He suddenly found his shoes much more interesting than his new classmates. Still with his head down he uttered, “My name is Shim Changmin, please take care of me.”

It was so brief that even the teacher thought that he was a klutz.

“Take your seat behind Kim Ryeowook. Ryeowook, raise your hand please.”

When Changmin had sit down, he took out his books before burying his head there and didn’t dare to look up. At the same time Junsu was secretly staring at the boy behind his bangs and he didn’t even notice when the teacher told him to read out the next chapter.

During lunch Jaejoong bought chicken salad while Junsu bought melon bread. They sat in the greenhouse located behind the school and enjoyed their lunch. Junsu told his brother about the new transfer student. Jaejoong noticed the glimmer and shine in Junsu’s eyes showing his excitement like that of a child at Christmas.

Jaejoong wasn’t sure how to take the news. He didn’t want Junsu to fall in love just yet, maybe it was his over protectiveness for him. To distract his brother Jaejoong told him about what was going to be printed in the school newspaper. Junsu truly admired his brother’s determination in arranging and picking all the hottest news himself for the school’s paper. He shone at times like this.

The students flooded out from the school when the day was over. Jaejoong was walking down the corridor, hurrying towards the library. There he saw Shin Yoo Kyung along with the members of the newspaper club. There were also some new faces that Jaejoong didn’t recognize.

“Why did you leave me out of this teacher?” he asked as he threw the pro-newspapers at the table, waiting for an answer.

“You’re in your second year now. Don’t you think it’s time to let the freshmen do something to improve our club?”

Jaejoong didn’t back down when one of the freshmen snickered at him. “I did most of the work so why couldn’t you wait just a few days.

“Jaejoong if you have any problems you can bring it up to your moth… the principal. She was the one who made the final decision.”

He couldn’t believe it. Why would his mom do this to him? She knew how hard he worked for the newspaper. Feeling angry and betrayed Jaejoong took the bus home to get a straight answer from his mom.
