As some may have noticed (well, at least bookcat, who has to listen to me rave about it most days), I've fallen pretty hard for the new show Revenge this season. Way, way harder than I expected to, given that it's a prime time soap, which isn't usually my thing

So I've seen you around on the N/E community & decided to stop by. Can I just say that I love everything about this post? You make an excellent point about how despite being, well, a soap, it's not all about who's hooking up with whom this week, the plot is being driven by something else entirely. I think you've nailed it regarding the non-imposing "love triangle". I'm already rooting for the better half of one on another show, and goodness, watching Revenge is definitely a much needed relief in that department. First of all, because we're not entirely sure the triangle is VALID as we can never get a sufficient enough read on Emily (lol), and mostly because I went straight to shipping outside of it when Nolan & Emily talked in his car the way only Nolan & Emily talk on that show. Yes. I'm also a huge fan of the fact that the show doesn't make up our minds about the characters for us, there's so much delicious ambiguity to go on that you're feeling they deserve your support, yet are left questioning your own morals while doing so

Yeeeep. Revenge is hardly the first show I've watched that has this effect (indeed, moral ambiguity is something I seek out in dramas), but it's the only prime time soapy kind of show that does it so effectively and deliciously.

Basically, I'm just stoked I found someone who apparently also loves talking about the show as much as I do AND ships my OTP? I'm thinking we should be friends.
Yes, yes, yes we should! I'd LOVE to have more people on my flist who love Revenge and Nolan/Emily as much as I do :) *goes to add you*
