Looking back, I see that this is origfic... though it sounds 'inspired' by the 1990s Gargoyles animated whatever-it-was.
I just wanted to check, because, I dunno, something about writing a fanfic novel seems excessive. If it's a Star Trek novel you're contractually permitted to do, that's one thing. If you get wound up and write your own Harry Potter novel, it seems like an awful waste of effort.
You know, I never saw that show, so any resemblance to it is purely coincidental, although it is mentioned in passing as something my main character saw as a child. This story is purely inspired by an empty city street in St. Louis and an offhand remark a friend made about gargoyles. The gargoyles themselves are only seen a few times and aren't really "characters" in their own right. This may change (probably has to, in fact) if I turn it into a novel
