My brain is a dark and scary place.

It really is. I don't suppose that writing a descent into madness is ever a pleasant exercise, but the things I'm coming up with in order drive him further along that path are...disturbing me.

I'm doing a bit of research on Post-Traumatic Stress to figure out how I'm going to work this. One of the things that jumped out at me was this line:

Sounds like a story that needs to be told, even if you're not too happy about being the one chosen to tell it. *hugs*

On a kinda related note, I actually have PTSD so if you'd like to discuss real life experiences, I'd be glad to. I'm not an expert by any means, but I'm more than willing to be open about what I have experienced.

Interesting discussion. In terms of BTVS fan fiction I would say that there were at least several candidates for PTSD, primarily the Slayer herself.

My father, who had served in WWII and had suffered battle fatigue, the feared 'Thousand Yard Stare,' never suffered relapses, as far as I know, but always made a determined effort to avoid any reminder of his war time experiences.

I always wished that Whedon and company had examined the possibility of Buffy Summers experiencing a 'personality meltdown' in the wake of the events shown in 'Chosen'. It would certainly explain many of the Scoobies behavior during the final season of Angel.

Very true. Maybe the post-Chosen comics will deal with it somewhat? That would be shiny.

*snerk* No, it's from one of my favorite movies, not one of the worst movies ever made...

They did come out the same year. Honestly, I don't really expect anyone to get it, but it would have been fun if someone had. :)
