stupid flash and max tricks

I've found a lot of gee-whiz discoveries in the past few week. Nothing is anything especially *new* or *dramatic*, per se, but the findings are new to me and I want to share the love. Plus, if I write it out, I'm less likely to forget. :D

Oh, no! I'm still a Flash virgin! I've got it now, but I don't know a blessed thing. ^^; But we'll be learning the very basics in class, soon enough. :) And I have tried the drawing functions out and I like the smoothing filters. It really cleans up the sketchy lines I draw. :)

But I'd like to try a few things. I've been wanting to make a loop animation for the longest time, modeling a hippo off of Disney's Fantasia and also from Madagascar, and have her lip-sync to "Don't you Wish Your Girlfriend was Hot Like Me" ---kinda weird.

Also have a game idea, though I don't know how well it'd work in Flash. Might have to simplify the initial idea.

Any suggestions on tutorials to look at or such would be highly appreciated, but not required. n.n Don't want to fuss at you. :)

The first time I picked up Flash, FlashKit had the most tutorials. They've got a ton of neat and nifty things buried away in the tutorial files there, I highly recommend checking out the site. Only bad thing is -- they've got tons of distracting, Flash-animated ads. Blech.

Best way to learn Flash, though, is to get an idea and try pushing it through to completion. As with Photoshop, it's less about knowing how to do EVERYTHING, more about learning the tricks necessary to get something constructed. Once it's done, you've probably learned something in the process! :)

I guess I should start simply, then. Baby steps before running a marathon and all. Well... We'll see! ^^ But school does come first, so I doubt it will be anytime soon.
